A few years ago someone mentioned how bill boards have plugs at the bottom, on those trips you have to take a highway you'll see several. Its great to just stop for 4 hours and get moving quickly i have a 200w solar panel with a 175w power box. It takes longer but its equally reliable. Carry around a back up battery with these 2 tricks and you'll be fine for the longest journeys

When we’re on the road we use a 1.2kw portable generator. I have a 60 ft lead which we plug in the campervan and put the generator in the trees so it doesn’t disturb anyone . The beauty is it charges the camper and the batteries are safe inside the van . It’s a must for winter in the uk and less than £300 .

If you have the space, a huge residential style solar panel of 340-380W can be bought for like 125-150 euro's. These things are very affordable now, and prices continue to drop. I love solar and i have been off grid for about 2 years. There is something special about generating your own electricity from the sun, and then using it to power your bike, laptop, fridge etc.

mate the only draw back to our campervan is the roof size... really not much space but we run hot water, cooking and heating on gas so it seems ok for now..

I'm looking into a good off-grid solution and the Honda keeps popping up as the one to get. I have a 500W battery with an inverter built in, and 120W foldable solar panel. Takes about 5 -6 hours in direct sunlight to recharge the 500W portable battery. I can charge my current ebike battery (48V 14.3AH) in about 2 - 3 hours on this setup. Do you think I'd do better with the generator? I ordered a new ebike with a 52V 28AH battery so I'm assuming it takes a much longer time to charge, even if possible. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

Great video. We have been camping with our ebikes a few times this year. We have a similar setup in our camper to your van, with 300W panels and a smaller inverter. We also and have a similar 500W stand alone with its own 100W portable panel. We use the 500W unit when the camper is in the shade or as an emergency source. We recently rode our Levo SL bikes for 8 days in a row with this setup and also ran the fridge and other electrical loads. Charging both bikes everyday from about 3 bars capacity to full.

I fly a small plane, and I take my Montague folder e conversion with me, I had a electronics geek make me a 12 VDC to 58 VDC converter, for a bit over $200.00. That way I can charge while flying, with no inverter losses. I also have a belly mounted steamlined pod for carrying my two 11.5 AH batteries, plus a 6 AH one that stays on the bike, so a total of 29 AH! I dodn't have the extra room or weight capacity to pack PV or a gas gen set. By the time I use up all 29 AH's, I'm ready to go home anyway.

I just ordered an eb55 with a 200 watt solar panel and I cannot wait to see how far I can go with my wagon and my bike and that and also two extra batteries that I can charge while I'm riding I hope. I think I can charge while I'm using it from what I have researched it better be true extremely important to be able to charge it while you're using it. I think the new ones are different

you could try solar panel to solar charger to keep it topped off and get more charges while boondocked! also, I just added roof rack to cargo trailer camper with 100ah lithium battery to a 3500 watt pure sign wave inverter to charge ebike. I have solar panels and controller to keep the 100ah battery topped off. I'm torn between mounting solar panels on roof rack or keeping them portable with legs because I like to keep the camper parked in the shade, thereby negating the solar panel benefits to keep battery topped off. What do you think is best?

For people like me who don't have a car and have an e-bike this is going to be amazing I can't wait I spent almost every dime I had so I can keep going and never have the magical word range anxiety which I never heard of until I got an e-bike and I know what it means LOL it wouldn't be so bad except I have one leg and I can't pedal ever it's always electric I'm using. I have gone 1300 miles so far I went camping 36 Mi away but now I will be able to go to Buffalo or Rochester on my e-bike and it's going to be so cool. And probably pretty damn heavy. Fifty pounds for the two batteries and the solar panel and the solar unit I will find out if it is feasible. Where I want to go down the Erie Canal Trail is all level. Are there a lot of hills in Australia I've never seen any

I'm in the USA. When you say "on 24 power" is that the 220-240 volt AC that is delivered to your wall sockets at home? We, of course run on 110-120 VAC here, be we generally refer to it as "hunnert an ten" (110) not 11 or 12 power. Just want to understand fully what you're describing on your van setup.

Buddy good to see your on the road mate. I’ve been waiting for someone to touch on charging off grid, but going a step further I’m hoping that if you want to go bike packing a simple lightweight charge could be on the cards so you could be totally self reliant. Could a vinyle solar panel be used to charge your battery? I would love to know if this is possible and how? Cheers

Just a matter of procedural strategy, I love the idea of getting a beer or lunch or both but I would not wait until half way through your eating to pop the question. If the employee is scared to think on there own and the boss is out, or for whatever reason they cannot allow you to charge your battery, but you've already ordered food and drinks, you'll be looking at your mate thinking you should have tried the spot across the street. I would get the beer for sure and look over menu's and when they ask what you'll have, then say yes I've decided, another beer and before I order i need to charge my battery or I'll hoofing it back home in a full stomach. More than likely before you can finish asking they'll tell you to hand it to them or point you to a spot under the TV. If you unplug the jukebox you are going to wish you had not been born! Don't touch the jukebox, rock the jukebox!

What size Bluetti Power Bank would you recommend to charge a Citroen Ami Quadricycle? It has a 6 kW electric motor operating at 48 V, with a 5.5kWh lithium battery. It plugs into a regular 240v wall socket here in the EU, and the specs say it uses an AC On-Board Standard Charger at 2.3 kW. Would the 500 Bluetti work? Is it a matter of charging slower with the lower level power bank, or is there a certain amount I need for that battery? Thx loads.
