People get so confused with G2G and input lag. 1ms g2g has nothing to do with input lag. G2g is about the image changing on screen and 5ms is actually real quick, hardly noticeable by the human eye. Input lag is totally different, this LG series has a pretty decent input lag from mouse/keyboard or controller to on screen movement for an IPS. Also, 1000 nits will blast your eyes from sitting close so 400-650 nits up close is actually great

What about the 600 ?
@jaredferguson29995 жыл бұрын
it has the same 3840x2160 350nit (450 nit when in hdr) HDR panel. The only visual difference is you don't get some of the post processing features in the settings but those add to input delay and you wouldn't want to use them anyway. Oh, and the calibration settings are more in depth, little more accurate out of the box, though you can always fiddle around with them and still end up with a very color accurate display given the 8bit+frc 10 bit color. The 650 and 850 have a better stand, (it has height adjustment along with the tilt feature that the 600 has) and the 850 has built in speakers but they're really fucking awful. I reccomend the 650 just for the height adjustment feature, but if you're looking for the best value the 600 has the same picture quality as the 850 and that's really what you're looking for in a 4k hdr panel. I'd generally want to pay $350 for the same quality of the $700 panel and skip some of the external features myself. The newer version, ("ud" as opposed to "uk") is technically HDR 400 certified but as far as I know it has exactly the same specs except for slightly more of the p3 color range and so this just serves to prove that the 600 can display "true" hdr because even though it doesn't hit 1000 nits the 450 nit peak brightness is more than enough to prevent detail clipping. Seriously, go buy it.

I'm thinking of buying and installing a novel hybrid computer setup in my office. My primary workstation would be mobile: 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. My video editing and graphics station would be a 2018 6-Core i7 Mac Mini. I want to seek a deal on an eGPU so I could plug-in either the laptop or the Mini to *two* displays. (I want a hi-res ultrawide display preferably an HDR of 34-38 inches, *plus* a 4K HDR display (21-26 inches?) with 90º rotating capability for both video review and desktop publishing/page layout work. I want the eGPU to drive both displays from either computer so I have lots of video real estate for a variety of productivity, communications and video/graphics tasks.) I want my setup to be a good quality one, with excellent color fidelity, nits, and refresh rate. I want the Mini and the eGPU tucked away under the desk (sit/stand motorized type, L-shaped) so they are out of the way and there will be minimal noise. I want a Thunderbolt 3 dock to provide ports for connectivity and make it easy to connect either the Mini or the laptop (or perhaps some kind of switch between either the Mini or the laptop?) and I also want top-notch Cable Management so I could occasionally use one monitor for the laptop and the other for the Mini. I am planning to buy this monitor during october when I have just moved in my new appartment... I am a console gamer and I am not sure whether this is the best 4K HDR monitor for consoles so far. Can anyone give some recommendations especially for FPS games?
@emanuelelin10106 жыл бұрын
Consider looking into monitors with high refresh rate (144hz) or monitors that have either free sync or Gsync depending on your graphics card. Kepp in mind that monitors with Nvida Gsync are expensive.

@Bo_Yang6 жыл бұрын
You have to get an external calibrator in order to correctly calibrate it

I personally use the XRite colormunki for the last 2 yrs. makes a world of difference when you’re viewing images or videos that are color accurate. I also recalibrate every few months.

not 450 nits…it has only 350 nits per LG’s website.
@iamcll5 жыл бұрын
It reaches 450 during HDR, So it's true nits is somewhere in-between

I got the cheaper model (650-w), mainly for 4K gaming on my Xbox One X. It's a nice display and games look great. But since I came from a smaller monitor with 1ms response time, the 5-8ms response time on the 650-w is difficult to get used to. At the price point, it's a great deal. I'd still recommend it to most people.
@vincenzoman86376 жыл бұрын
Galactic Magic hi i was thinking to buy the 650-w also. Is there a hige difference between the 850 and the 650-w? Also is the hdr very noticable?
@toozigooti6 жыл бұрын
The only difference between the two is that the 850 has USB Type-C and speakers. As far as HDR goes, since both monitors only max out at 400 nits of brightness, the HDR is not a game changer. It looks great, but doesn't compare to an HDR10, 1,000 nit set up. I don't think there are 1,000 nit, HDR10, 4K monitors with decent response rates on the market right now.
@medzgb89216 жыл бұрын
Hi i am thinking of getting this monitor in your personal opinion how good would you rate The HDR performance of this Monitor on a scale of 10? Thanks.
@toozigooti6 жыл бұрын
As I don't have another HDR display to compare it to, I can't give you an accurate rating. Since the monitor does not get too bright, there's not a very noticeable difference. The only time I saw something noticeable was when I was playing Sea of Thieves. The brights were pretty bright and the darks felt natural.
@toozigooti6 жыл бұрын
The pixel response is great, Tony. I play a lot of games like PUBG and Halo 5 on the Xbox One X, and I do not notice any issues. When I first got the monitor, the 5-8ms response time took some time to get used to (because I came from a 21" 1ms 1080p monitor), but now I am fully adjusted. No smearing or artifacts. My only gripe is that the monitor doesn't get bright enough, so during a darker scene like night time in Sea of Thieves, it can get really difficult to navigate.

I got two units of this monitor and both of them had horrible backlight bleed. Also altough it is not mentioned in the review, the panel suffers from severe screen image retention. I don't recomend buying this product.
