Thanks for the video. I really want to like this product but I've read some absolute horror stories about Daisata's zero customer service and some faulty head units.
@FortKnoxCo10 ай бұрын
Understandable. So far we haven’t experienced any issues. And I haven’t had to reach out to their customer service. But we do like the updated look and the car play works great. It’s mainly what we use it for. And the larger screen for the reverse camera. I looked into a few of the different brands and they all seem to be made overseas and have both good and bad reviews. I mainly chose this one because it had the better stock look like it was meant to be there and fit correctly. Some of the other ones I’ve seen just look goofy or flimsy in my opinion.

Ready to pull the trigger on this. Just a few questions. Do you use the stock mic and camera. Does the steering wheel still work the radio. Is there any draw back with it?
@FortKnoxCo11 ай бұрын
We are still using the stock microphone on the head unit itself. But it also comes with a plug-in microphone that you can mount wherever you would like in the vehicle as well to get more direct sound if you want. It does plug-in play with your factory camera. So that works really nice on the big screen. As far as dash controls, we only had some of the basic controls on the steering wheel but I believe if you have some of the upgrades on the steering wheel, they’re able to be used through the head unit and worst case scenario, I believe they have an adapter that is sold that allows all those controls to continue to work. But for the most part, everything on this is plug-in plate with whatever your vehicle is currently with.

How has the unit been performing over the last month? Any glitches? How is the radio FM/AM performance specifically and were you able to retain all steering controls? Thanks for taking time to make this video.
@FortKnoxCo11 ай бұрын
We still love the unit. Haven’t had any problems. We don’t use the am/Fm much ever. I know it works fine from my standards. But we mostly use the Apple car play. This unit had the ability to keep all your factory controls. And depending on what year vehicle you have I believe there’s an additional adapter box that will allow some advanced features to still be use but it’s sold from a different company.

There is the standard am/fm radio if that’s what you mean by local over the air radio. As far as vehicle settings, you can obviously access whatever is on your phone but not sure what settings on the head unit you’d be referring to. I didn’t get the extended warranty. So far haven’t had any problems. But we really only use it for the car play and bigger screen for the backup camera. Hmm. Thats weird those two don’t work. My first guess would be either one of the plugs being in the wrong port or not connected securely in the back. Sp frustrated doing my install. The 2 side mounts, that are used to bolt the head unit to the dash, the 2 screw holes to attach the mounts dont align by about 1mm. And it literally is enough to prevent installing the unit.
