I'm new to the whole boxing scene and running my first 6 man on Oakwynd. Originally I started with Pal, Shm, Clr, Rng, Brd, Nec. But wasn't really feeling the Necro. Swapped it to an enchanter and have enjoyed with more. I'm not setting any kill records but there isn't a whole lot I haven't been able to slowly chew my way through. In your experience do you think Pal, Shm, Clr, Rng, Brd, Enc, can make it long term or should I start thinking about making changes?

Cleric Shaman Bard is the core of every main group that would one box some of the raid bosses in Planes of Power etc, that's a solid foundation, up to Planes of Power / Gates Enchanter charm is lead dps, after that it becomes kind of a utility convenience so if you like crowd control mana regen etc, then it can be used to keep group safe, but isn't necessary because Bard can also mezz stuff and buff. The Ranger would be maybe a sub-par melee class now with where Oakwynd is but not terrible. The Paladin I find to be the best group tank, it will keep getting better as the expansions climb but most people use SKs or Warriors for one group raid stuff. It really depends what you're looking to do, the traditional group at your point is probably SK/War, Cleric, Bard, Shaman, Monk Monk. The melee synergy comes off the bard and shaman so you can buff all your melee good with shaman and the bard will be right up with them so they catch resist and other buffs. I always say play what you like, look at me, I still find a way to play a druid in my group settings lol.

@@vanman2099 Thank you for the response! My goal was to basically have a group versatile enough to tackle anything and have any buff that I might need/want. I definitely feel the lack of dps sometimes. But I haven't really had any trouble with any of the things I've tackled so far. It's just not amazingly fast at what it does but it's definitely safe.

@@ozymandias3540 safety is the route I go a lot because wipes are tramautizing, I know that people who do big fights actually will run like 6-9 clerics, a slower, and like a tank only lol and they just never run out of complete heal mana between all the clerics and can kill a lot of stuff that way...very...very...slowly I think they use an enchanter with charmed pet to help

I tried a beastlord instead of a shaman but I got pissed at having to do individual buffs early on and it was for cool stats like the Shamans HP buff it was like some weak HP buff so I gave up on it, I know at some point they get a group HP buff but man, and their slow doesn't last long at all that was aggrivating but I really did enjoy this combination, in theory at least.

Been thinking about Teek and rewatching your videos. curious what the fastest to max level will be. can run 4 boxes right now when im home. Thought 4 enchanters and just offering freeish stun lock to randoms. Then use that to PL a tank and healer. Just looking to reach some earily content with a guild. Thought Sk Shm Clr Bard. But also just figured go nuts and Ranger Mage Wizard Bard.

Someone will cap level 60 in the first few days if not first day it's like a specialty race, 4 enchanters might be crazy not sure how many people will pay for stunlock service but there's def merit running dual ench charm, you can safety it with 2 ench / 2 bards and have bards just chain mezz for when it breaks to be safe, The way that stunlock power leveling is done someone said on another comment is they use 2 enchanters, 1 cleric and a bard, then they take 2 mages and group them in with the characters they are going to power level them with, they use selos on cleric to pull with DA then pop DB when back, bard grabs aggro with songs while enchanters perma stun or something, I've never done that stunlock power leveling but the best part about teek is we can buy near best in slot gear and you can play whatever you want and level it quickly so you can always switch up.

Thinking of a group for the upcoming 2024 server. I usually have an enchanter for charm xp along with casters. How much of a difference would it be having mainly melee, thinking WAR, CLR, BRD, SHM, MNK, MNK. I would think it would be slower and safer. Then I'm thinking things like positioning mobs might be a pain.

Question for you. I’m having an issue in both mouse without borders or multiplicity where mouse clicks don’t work in the eq client on every remote pc. Clicks work fine outside of the game. Ever come across this?

Maybe something similar, I had to enable on every multiplicity client for fake pointer support, this is supposedly not a problem if each system has a mouse attached to it: forums.stardock.com/486104/multiplicity-support-faq#missingcursor

@@vanman2099yup got the mouse pointer option selected. Just found out if I have a mouse physically connected to the remote pc then it’ll work. Kinda defeats the purpose but at least I can make that work and just connect a dummy mouse to each pc. Gotta be a work around for that though.

Anybody have an idea how much of a dps difference there would be with something like SK, SHM, BRD, MNK, MNK, MNK vs SK, CLR, ENC, SHM, MAG, Wiz? The last few servers I've had an Enchanter and use charm as my main dps, would the 3 monks be comparable dps to that group with an ENC charming? I would think it would far less busy than dealing with charm breaks but I rarely play a melee class

This will change depending on the ERA but at the start Wizards and Mages are generally horrific for mana besides the mages pet is pretty decent tank. Enchanter charm will be the top DPS you can get up into Planes of Power. Cutting out the cleric for a monk in the first group might be brutal for healing so it depends on what you're going to do be doing and what pace you want to run at. The Wizards and Mages can get some high burst but they just run oom in consistent play or you have to slow down their dps. SK/Cleric/Enchanter/shaman/monk/monk would be pretty safe, if you aren't charming sk/cleric/bard/shaman/monk/monk is a standard group but those people also use that group setup for harder bosses and raids, early on swapping in a warrior for defensive. It's all going to be situational and in era, in Plane of Fire a fully buffed enchanter charmed pet was the equivalent of two decently geared monks, if I'm remembering my logs right I think the enchanter pet went from 800-1200dps and the monks could hit around 6-800.

I see people running 2 groups for raids where they do 2 wars 4 clerics 2 bards, shm, chanter, then two fillers of what they want. basically after talking to them is that they wanna control the CH and main tanking for raids and just invite random people to run things with. guilds dont usually like boxes and they dont get loot.

Mischief kind of added another flavor to the raid scene, you can bring boxes to raids in our guild but they don't get in over mains if the raid fills, for loot its all bid by plat and everything is tradable, you can buy whatever the heck you want if you want to pay for it and give it to whoever you want and resell it and no one cares because it makes the raid loot splits bigger at end. Getting control of the fight is really key, early on in my boxing career I would panic try to zerg everything with DPS and pray but with 2 wars and 4 clerics you can sustain fights for a very long time which gives them fight control and I could see how that would be effective.

Is monk still top dps for live? If running a single 6 box raid config, would you pick 2 monks to fill up your dps slots or would you mix and match? Ive heard rogue got a buff in live and monk is kind of suffering compared to the others.

No unfortunately not on live, they fall behind casters and are usually last in melee on longer sustained fights, but still a solid class all around.
