The matrix isnt as good as everyone believes, there is some horrible acting in that and the plot just starts to show how far up its own ass it is...we see most of that in the sequels. Decent effects for the time and great fights but its lacking in many other places. T2 defines action movie and it has its own shitty ride/attraction at universal studios.

Its not close at all, there's not 1 action scene in The Matrix that competes with those in T2. I'm honestly perplexed has to how people think it can give it a run for its money, it's not even close. I've seen better action in those PM Entertainment films, and they have no money! Don't get me wrong, I like The Matrix, but in my opinion it's story is better than its action scenes. To even think that it competes with the legendary T2 is frankly laughable, there must be some really easily pleased people out there. I'm sorry but The Matrix, at least in terms of action is overated. Apart from the helicopter scene, all the action is shootouts or fight scenes. T2 has everything, gun battles, fights, truck and helicopter chases and a nuclear bomb blasting LA to atoms. Despite The comparisons listed here, people still believe that the Matrix can compete with T2's action! The mind truly boggles.

KnightsaysNi Rush Hour, Who Am I?, The Legend of the Drunken Master 2, Police Story 3: Supercop, Armour of God 2: Operation Condor... Any of those kicks the teeth in of Point Break all day long. Con Air actually doesn't have a lot of action in it. Neither does Time Cop. And now that you mention it, aside from two big set pieces the Matrix is a lot of pseudo philosophical rambling for much of its run time. Bottom line is Jackie Chan should have been on the list. At least he did his own stunts, which most of the 'action' stars on this list did not.

How did The Crow with Brandon Lee not make into this, for me that is one of the best movies of all time and best 90s movie. it had revenge, it had amazingly well done fight scenes, a flawless story, and I mean it was just perfect. the main character looked bad ass and you really cared for him and his loss by the end of it. plus its an absolute riot watching him hunt down and punish everyone that had to do with his death.

Total Recall sucked. Maybe it's cuz I never watched it when it came out but only saw it last year at the age of 27, but it's weird low budget trash. The Rock wasn't great either but at least not as fucked up as Total Recall lol

which TR did you watch, the remake or the original? If its the remake, i weep for the two odd hours of time you can never get back. But if you're calling a $50-60 million production in 1990 "low budget" you have issues. Before we had CGI we had animatronics and models, and did pretty well with them.

Dumb and weird? The movie's main themes are "implanted memories" (hello Inception!), erasure/modification of identity (BRAINWASHING), people getting inside your own head convincing you you're either not you or you're made up ("Reds under the Bed" cold war paranoia - and the , drive of much of 50s/60s sci fi - Body Snatchers, The Thing), and questions the fabric of dream reality - 9 years before the Matrix had a turn. Physical challenge: watch it again with blinkers off and pick out those intricacies. Otherwise, "See you at the party, Richter!"

I'm so glad that Point Break made it to the finals. It's one of my favorite movies, so needless to say, it's my favorite action movie. I'm not at all mad that T2 won over it, though, as T2 is perhaps my second favorite sci-fi/action movie (behind Total Recall). Great video!
