Yeah this movie wasn't a "look at all these cameos har har" fest like this video implies. It was very much a love letter to the Fox era and a heartfelt goodbye to it.
@nolaffinmatter
@nolaffinmatter Ай бұрын
@@GhsdkgbThat’s the issue though. It’s a movie where the core appeal is about real life corporate branding, obscure production trivia, and nostalgia-pandering rather than a movie where the core appeal is filmmaking craft and telling a story that’s compelling in its own right. If someone 30 years from now tries to watch D&W, they probably won’t understand it because the movie is so dependent on real-life knowledge about Marvel Studios. It’s a movie that’s fun in the moment but highly unlikely to endure

for real though they had a good reason to give us a farewell to the characters from the cameos, they gave us fighting with more than just the Marvel Disney Princesses/fan favorites. They gave us the obscure background stuff we wanted.
@nolaffinmatter
@nolaffinmatter Ай бұрын
@@eloraandkhan3288 D&W is admittedly kinda fun, but I need D&W fans to realize that this is exactly the kind of movie that most people are complaining about when they criticize Hollywood these days. No, “we” don’t all want to “say farewell” to minor characters from 20 year old movies. What most people want is movies that prioritize filmmaking craft and emotionally compelling stories over childhood nostalgia & constant fanservice.

I had a great time with this movie. It was violent, funny, and had heart. Everything was nerdy and there's nothing wrong with that. Plot holes in multiverse stories are expected when different mediums are applied. It's a fun trilogy movie that tries to not just jump a shark, but ride it soaked in gore and nostalgia. 9/10.

Her plan was stupid. She already ruled the void, Paradox made a move to mess that up which she found out about AFTER sending DP and W back home. The TVA were also on to Paradox at this point and the TVA doesn't care about what went on in the void. To put it in simple terms she could have sat in the void and done nothing and gotten literally what she wanted. By going after the time ripper all she did is get herself killed to achieve an objective that she already had.

That is forgettable, the point of the void is to discard forgotten characters. Her plan to rule over an empty wasteland while she was the one who enjoyed killing the newly arrived characters makes no sense. Why would she not just rule over the current world(s)? @thefirstbourne149
@thefirstbourne149 Ай бұрын
Yeah, I think there’s an argument to both sides of the “please clap” moments. Yeah, they are done with background music more than just simply silence and footsteps, but they did still stop the movie for a second to do these cameo moments. Only a handful of them actually had shining moments. That’s not really a problem for me, but it is less of a movie that was than in something like No Way Home, where the third act was devoted to creating more of an arc within the battle. It also wasn’t just the moments of them making fun of the slips that happened in their previous movies.

The worst part is that HT even made fun of the fans at 0:19. What side are they on? They used to be on our side. We loved this movie, it was a respectful homage to super hero movies in general and the x-men movies in particular. The credit scenes showing the behind the scenes of those first X-Men movies were awesome. But calling us nerds for liking it, that was uncalled. Ehhh both films are about the same to me, very enjoyable the first time but fall apart on repeat viewings once the fan service wears off and you start to think about the plot more

@@NathanDrakeTheGreatyeah that's a good point. The plot for this film was dumb and not every fight scene needs a nostalgic 90s 2000s song thrown into it. People enjoyed this one for the cameos more than anything.

I loved it. It was a fantastic romp that had me laughing out loud in most of the fight scenes. Im not much of a marvel fan and have missed more than I’ve seen but this was fun.

If you were born in like the last 5 years it was a great movie. If youve been alive since the 90's this movie was just a thing that happened

Cassandra was more memorable than any of the MCU villains (except Loki & Thanos) and didn't end up being a joke like the rest of them.

This really is an honest trailer! IMHO, D&W was a very mediocre movie that tricked people into thinking it was better than it was by relying heavily on fanservice and nostalgia.

"Once this era is over, there's going to be a lot of awkward silence where the Pause for Cheering moments go." Didn't Screen Junkies say the same thing about Avengers: Endgame? Guess Deadpool really is part of the MCU now. ✨

Damn. _Deadpool 3_ fans can't take the jokes. Someone asked me what I thought was the best movie currently playing at the theater, on one of the two days _Blazing Saddles_ returned for its 50th anniversary so I said that one, with _Deadpool vs. Wolverine_ being number two. Good luck in 50 years, Ryan! PS: Can't wait for Honest Trailers for _Joker 2: The Musical, Duh!_
