Bloblobber main here. I really wouldn’t consider blob to be a backline weapon. It has the slowest shot velocity in the game so it’s extremely easy to dodge at long range. If anything it’s best used as a semi-aggressive midline paint and chip damage support that can make use of uncommon positions and map geometry to harass back-liners.
@GUSplatoon2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing! It’s the weapon out of all the sloshers that I have the least competitive experience with, so good to know.
@Rawrmuffin0 Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty flexible mid. It can skirmish and also backline support by lobbing tons of blobs to cover fire 💙

Easily the most underrated weapon in the game. Works from everywhere but close range. Lethal for chip damage
@p.zansei32802 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Bloblobber enthusiast since Splatoon3 launched. I found much of what you said quite interesting as a low-mid level, solo-queue slosher main. I tend to go more aggressive with my Blob, running LDE, Ninja Squid & Object Shredder on it (to answer crab tanks and 5gal walls), often employing strats like controlling choke points or front line skirmishing, or playing a decent-ish anchor if there is none one better for it in solo queue. It's quite fun and my flexible blobs demand respect in Mid. I view "#1 Popular Target" as high praise whether I win or lose, however.
@GUSplatoon2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Welcome to the community :) Out of curiosity, what do you mean by low-mid level solo-queue? Yes, LDE & ninja squid are always an option. I think OS is good on blob; I forgot to include it when re-reading my notes but I did include some builds form Isaac where they have OS on it. But, yes, you’re right. Blob is best at holding space which is similar to your comment on controlling choke points. That’s what the weapon excels at.

@@GUSplatoon yes sorry that's pretty vague, I forgot that low and mid level mean something different >_> I'm not in any competitive ranking, (primarily turf-warring with a splash of Zones) but I consider myself comparatively strong and tenacious despite playing casually.

@@GUSplatoon I made this build as a sort of.. all-around build 😂 I find the slosher is very versatile in what it can do- so I figured being able to move quickly, have extra ink to fight back (when losing battles with LDE), and SCU to help with Tri-Strike farming would ensure I’m able to stay alive and help displace my enemies while doing what I can for my team. I need to make more builds for my mains so I’m definitely gonna be re-watching this video and looking at Sendou for other abilities to use so I can switch it up- changing builds is one of the best things you can do to revitalize a weapon’s play style! I used to swap it up in 2, but losing all my gear progress with the change to 3 made me kinda fall back into using the same build. Time to change that :)

Yo, I loved this video! I'm no Explo expert (dare I say Expl-ert?), but I find that Thermal Ink is awesome for the Explo even though it has point sensor since you can track an opponent from just a slosh instead of a sub use, which saves ink in a way. While Thermal Ink doesn't show their location to your teammates, it's still helpful from a personal standpoint and can aid in splatting or whittling down enemy health for your teammates to splat them easier. Also, it's always good to be able to see where enemies are through walls lol.
@GUSplatoon2 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏽. I’ve never tried thermal ink on explo, does it need to be a direct hit to activate? I’ll probably try it out. Thanks for sharing :)
@quackinton2 жыл бұрын
Explo main here, thermal ink only activates with direct shots, but even with that downside it still isn’t a bad option :> personally i don’t run it but it’s not a bad option
@Dpostel11 ай бұрын
I have tried running Thermal Ink, but the annoying thing is that you need the direct hit, which means most often you already did 90 damage on them. Using the map, you can easily get a indirect hit on the second slosh in my opinion. Learning to shoot using the map as a guide helps a lot while hitting opponent behind cover. If you partner with someone, you hit them behind cover and your partner finished them off when they try to approach you. Or the other way around when they try to hide behind cover from your partner you finish them off

My main gear I mainly built around Slosher has Comeback (because I'm dumb but also like more swim and run speed aswell as LDE isn't that useful in Turf War) and Drop Roller (Its a good counter to Splatana charge slash and sometimes chargers) and I have a Main and 3 subs of Ink Recovery 2 subs of Main Saver (Because Ink efficiency isn't a concept in a pinch) and 3 subs of Swim Speed (because without swim speed the game feels SUPER slow)

I think i huge thing I would love for them to add to Splatoon 3 is the ability to have more than 5 Fresh Fit slots and attack weapons to the gear sets, I also would love to be able to give a Favorite(star) next to specific weapons and gear so I can find and separate them easier
@GUSplatoon2 жыл бұрын
100% agree. I think 5 is limiting & although you can get 10 with amiibo, I feel like it’s unfair if you don’t have one. Yes, I think the favorites is very weird because right now it lists them based on the order you played them. Maybe they could do “most turf” ordered?
@jermm2183 Жыл бұрын
I always preferred machine over slosher in S2 but something about the weapon just FEELS better in S3 and I started preferring slosher (I think flicks feel a little more consistent or something like that.) As for kits I think it depends a lot on your play-style but I've personally come to really like running 2 subs of ink recovery and comeback. I have no problems with ink efficiency after those 20 seconds of comeback end and get all of those sweet comeback buffs alongside it. If you run LDE usually you need at least 3 subs swim speed and some amount of charge up/special saver in combination to make up for your inferior output compared to ttek/neo splash so comeback solves most of your problems in that front as well. Feel free to copy my build but I use this 1 main comeback 1 main 3 sub quick respawn 1 main stealth jump 2 sub swim speed up 2 sub ink recovery up 1 sub quick super jump 1 sub special saver With this build you can primarily play sweeper utilizing comeback buffs and still be able to fight after comeback as your swim speed and ink recovery help negate your primary weaknesses. Also drop roller > stealth jump on slosher deco

So I have a question about abilities, are abilities like Sub Resistance, Special Saver, Ink Resistance and Quick Super Jump ever worth having as a main ability? Because from what I've seen most players rarely run more than 1 sub of those abilities
@GUSplatoon2 жыл бұрын
Good question. For the most part, these abilities are not worth using as a main, mostly as subs because they provide more benefit in increments & it’s better to use other abilities as mains (swim speed, intensify, QR, etc.) However, there are rare & understandable exceptions when they are used as mains. Here are a few examples: - Some mini, heavy & Hydra players use 1 main on ink resistance because of how often they are strafing - Most recently, some high level players started wearing 1 main & 1 sub of sub resistance to help in countering burst bomb since high level comps often use things like splash and stamper. - Some e-liter player use 1 main of quick super jump because if you’re getting targeted, you want to get out of their as fast as possible. At the end of the day, run what you feel comfortable with.
