One thing I noticed, however, since I’m a specialist in posture and biomechanics… is that you have a slight R head rotation since the camera captures more of your L ear during the video and a high L shoulder. If you don’t already see a chiropractor … I’d recommend one. If you do, perhaps something to bring up on your next appointment. Thx again for great content 👍🏼

Additional thought 💭… Bc you’re so aware of your health and fitness and have such a high commitment to maintaining it… you potentially could improve it a lot with specific, gentle stretching in opposite direction and holding those positions 10-20 seconds few times a day. The L shoulder may require assistance with a resistance band. Again having a specialist make some spinal adjustments and assist in rehab would help.

Hey Gluck if you had to pick, would you get the Rogue AB 3.0 or the Rep AB 5200 ? I can get the Rogue for about $800 to my door and the Rep bench in red would be $500, that $300 savings is looking pretty tempting but I don't want to regret it if the bench ends up being shaky or unstable. I love the rest of my Rogue equipment, this would be my first Rep purchase.
@GlucksGym2 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that's the 3.0 with the premium pad? Honestly even factoring in my love of American manufacturing $300 is a lot for a comparable bench. They're both rock solid, you saw my 520p with the bolt tight (which it already was), the rogue bolt not being tight would be funny since you assemble it yourself and it's much more involved. If they were the same (or remotely similar priced) I'd give it to Rogue. You can't go wrong with either but Rep has never let me down (yet).

@dessertstorm74762 жыл бұрын
I feel like adjustable benches are just too long and a shorter bench would be more versatile, and versatility is the entire purpose of adjustable benches. With a short bench on an incline you can do more things where you're facing the bench, e.g. seal rows with your knees on the seat or spider curls but with these long benches your face is smashed into the bench. With a shorter bench you could do tricep extensions overhead, or skullcrushers with an ez curl bar on an incline without the extra headsupport getting in the way, or you could improvise a preacher curl at a high angle, with these size benches you can't because at 70+ degrees its like shoulder height. You seem like a normal sized guy and theres almost a foot of extra bench above your head when youre doing the incline presses there. The extra length doesn't serve much purpose unless you're about 7 feet tall, or like you say you want to flat bench without sitting across the joint, which seems like you dont want an incline bench if that is your purpose.
@kozmo72 жыл бұрын
I agree with you and I’m a taller guy. Found a bench that fits your criteria? What do you use?
@tgr_strength58652 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. I owned this bench and sold it and haven’t regretted it. It was heavy duty and looked cool but that side to side play is a low hanging fruit that they could’ve fixed by now. In fact a competitor addressed it in Get RX’d. The ladder style system itself is all hype right now. It’s literally like a half second quicker to adjust lol. Pop pin is still quick and is more stable. I own a Rogue AB-2 now, got a steal price locally yet I still kept my IronMaster Super Bench Pro because it’s shorter and lighter.

Any discussion of benches and price points needs to include country of origin. Rogue is building its products in Columbus, Ohio with entirely USA sourced steel. I bet they are paying $50 an hour minimum after benefits and payroll taxes. Rep is surely paying somewhere around $8.00 per hour in China. The question isn’t why is the Rep bench cheaper, but rather why isn’t it 1/3 the price of the Rogue bench? But either way, if it’s always “price point” then Rep is always going to be the obvious choice. It’s not junk like most Titan products, but less expensive than Rogue.
@GlucksGym2 жыл бұрын
Very true, that is mentioned in each of the benches reviews (AB 5000, Super Bench Pro, and Rogue AB 3.0) though not sure how I didn't mention that here. American manufacturing is very important and something I always try to talk about. The quality difference isn't always as far off as it used to be with robotics, etc but the value of the US shouldn't be understated.
@rjm6562 жыл бұрын
Answer is robotics. Not a ton of labor involved in this production anymore. Pieces cut with a laser cutter, put into a jig and robotically welded, then robotically painted. Rogue's comes completely disassembled while REP's is almost completely assembled.
@youngcouplesparty90062 жыл бұрын
@@rjm656 companies like Rep have pointed to robotics and their American designers, as to why made in the USA doesn't matter much. Rogue has 850 employees as of 2020, and it wouldn't surprise me if that number isn't over 1000 now. I don't begrudge someone for saving a buck, but do feel country of origin should be mentioned as long as the price is.

The big difference is the weight and rigidity. The higher tier benches are solid and heavy and almost feel like they won’t move despite being set at different angles. That and the finish options too. Because of the price I didn't compare it. I wonder if they'll do a redesign of that now as well

No one has compared the new Rogue foam pad to Reps pad. I wish I knew which one had better grip. Literally 340,000,000 Americans and no one has compared them. Smh But I love your new bench and would love to have it in my home. Well not your bench lol. My own. ;-)

If it was ever in stock for me I'd be right there, just gotta wait... A few more months?

@@GlucksGym If Rogue can sell just the upgrade to you that would allow you to compare/contrast not just the Rogue best to the Rep best but also the different versions of the Rogue 3.0 Plus you wouldn’t have to buy an entirely new bench. And we could all watch another review! And your Rogue bench would look more badass. A win for everyone here! Will definitely stay tuned!! ;-D

Brother, you need a fade haircut. Tell your barber you want a skin fade with a cowlick. You have the size but that's a boy's haircut.

There is no comparison between this bench and the ironmaster bench is there? The ironmaster bench looks like a toy next to the other benches

Before the price increase on the super bench I would've said they were far enough apart you could consider the super bench at a different level but now... The super can do a lot more (with the attachments) but what the 5200 does it does near perfectly. These 3 are commercial quality, the super is more home gym /versatility level
@Timm1292 жыл бұрын
@@GlucksGym I just wish rep made a leg extension/ curl attachment for the 5100. That's what I really want
@GlucksGym2 жыл бұрын
I swear somewhere I saw a CAD design from them that was a leg ext/curl and I was told there's some changes coming to the 5200 (no clue when) but none of that's official
@Timm1292 жыл бұрын
@@GlucksGym how would it attach to the 5200?
@GlucksGym2 жыл бұрын
They were early designs with nothing noted but it could also be for the 5000. For the 5200 they'd have to do a redesign
