Man, that GoPro really does flatten things out! That trail is MUCH steeper than it seems on camera. You literally travel up more than a mile in elevation to the peak.

I just rode to the peak today for the first time. Thank you SO much for this video to help me know what to expect 🤙🏼

That’s my kind of riding and trails. Perfect balance of challenge and fun for the GS. 🤙

Nice. My buddy and I ride up maple as often as we can. We ride north main divide and last time we rode through to the 74. We try to stay away from Santiago peak because that’s where most of the nuckle heads on 4x4s go and it is too congested. We prefer riding to sierra peak past Beeks place and back. The trail is much more fun and the views are amazing on that side. We are on Aprilia Tuaregs by the way.

Have over 20 thousand miles up there, in 10 years mostly trail bikes, knew the conditions before hand and drove a 2010 Hyundai ascent from Elsinore to Maple spings once ! Week days are much less crowded, of course, thanks for your work !😊

Just did this twice the last two weekends! Great ride and not difficult on the GS. No real need to air down. Ran on road pressures without any issues. Only one knucklehead in a Tacoma power sliding around blind corners. Want to take it all the way out to Ortega hwy but haven't done that yet.

Awesome! That side gets a lot more sketchy

We just rode it for the first time about a month ago, it was great. Now it's all burned down. I heard the city was trying to block off parts of the trail because of potential "fire hazard" from offroad vehicles, and their own heavy equipment started the fire!

Great video BUT you left out that one 20-30 yard gravel pit from hell section at about @25:28 I've been through that on a KLR650 and an Africa Twin and that was the worst section every time. What happened? 😮

That rock garden can be seen from the 55 fwy ! Looks white and will very on Rufnus depending on when it was last graded,etc ! He didn't show it. I know those roads extremely well !😊

Have you tried riding that trail all the way out to Hwy 74 Ortega Highway?

Nice video, I have a Yamaha FZ07 with Pilot Road 4 tires. What would I need to “air down” to for this trail? I’ve only done street so far. Thanks.

Nice video. I was hoping to ride a loop from Lake Elsinore Ortega Hwy main divide road and down maple springs then Silverado Canyon 241 91 then 15 but main divide road was closed few miles north of Ortega Hwy. this was in late June I think. I’m looking to try it the way you did in next week or two, definitely not too bad looking. When coming downhill should engine braking be used or neutral?

@dailyaveragehaloclips1474 thanks for the offer, gotta do some maintenance over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I remember to let you know. 👍

Did your friend in the bronco air down his tires? If so, what PSI was he running on his tires? Thanks

You think the xr150 can make it there? Or best to take a trailer and drive the bike to the site?

Xr150 can do it NP

@@BlackwaterAquatics I just got back tonight. It's really gnarly this year due to the rains. I would have a decent off road tire on the xr to get back down that mountain. It's a great ride though. Let me know next time you want to go. Cheers!
@BlackwaterAquatics5 ай бұрын
@@machupikachu1085 you dont need ngarly off road tires for this trail. Theres two path a easy one to the tower and a more "chalanging" one with some secrets single track that goes north to corona. I done both with street bias tires. Unfortunately, i tore my ACL on this trail from aggrivating a previous injury so no riding for me for a while. I would consired this trail to be really good for begginer to learn how to offroad. Good luck!
@machupikachu10854 ай бұрын
@@BlackwaterAquatics Sorry to hear that. May I recommend some gnarly off road tires that provide heaps more traction so you don't fall? Street bias tires have led to many an injury on the trails. Cheers!

This trail has been ruined. It used to actually be a secret. Around 1985. Selfish people ruining spots. Just to say look at me!! And then these places eventually get the gate closed. Pathetic.

More the merrier! We don’t need secret trails, we need more respectful people.

@@joshmorrisofficial enjoy being a hood ornament one day. Hope the “views” were worth it. Especially on a BMW. It’s only 12 miles to the top. Bring lots of gatorade 😂 2 hours to go 12 miles. What an adventure!!
