you really need basri lieutenant in the deck if you have daxos, heliod and basri: creature enters, give +1+1 from heliod, if any creature dies, you get token from basri, life from daxos and another +1+1 on the new token. if that token dies, you get a token, llife from heliod and put another +1+1 on the new token .... and you also get life and +1+1 from the dying process. you get an infinite loop of tokens spawning. just protect the daxos and basri with alseid and savior forever with lurrus. at least thats how i play this deck. this combo already won me quite a few games.

Have you seen the card "lights radiance" or suns radiance? Whenever you gain life put that many +1 +1 counter on enchanted creature? I love it and I think I'm the ONLY person using it tbh

@@MrNick-og4qm it is not that strong, you need a creature, you need the card, you need the creature to survive when you cast it and then you need to gain life. too many requirements. basri lieutenant is a good card, even if none of the other cards are on the board. you get a 4/5 that makes tokens in case of boardwipes for 4 mana. the combo makes the card stronger, but the card in itself, without any help from any other card, is good. thats why your enchantment is not that strong, it can easily be useless in plenty of situations. IF it goes off, it is good, yeah, but that is a big IF.

Just had a game with MonoR and it was ... thinking xD never happened to me before. Easily won it, not allowing to put too many creatures, Saviour + Lurrus rule allowing you to kill all R overpowered/charged creatures saving Lurrus and casting the Doggo from the graveyard.

Riiiight, that's why I was playing against white the last hour!! I am playing a gruul adventures to beat simic. Scavenging for uro, the red adventure creature that destroy artefacts, a couple of gemrazer just in case, embercleave to finish the game. Everything else is very adventure common things. The good thing is that it works great against a lot of decks too. Best mtg channel!

I feel like such a scrub with that list; been stuck at 50% win rate on it. I will win 3 in a row and then drop 3 in a row. I took advice from some folks on tracking my losses and categorizing "was there something I could have done differently' or "did my opponent just have the ideal plays". The other night went 8-8 with the deck; of the 8 losses I recorded 3 where I had bad plays but 5 games where I was on the draw and just couldn't compete (yes I am looking at mulligans as a possible area I am making bad decisions).

Hi, watching your channel I got into platinum 4 months ago with an aura deck, 2 months ago the white aggro deck with gingerbrute got me to diamond. Now with azorius fliers I'm in mythic for the first time. Big thanks!!! Of course, I modified the decks, dropped key cards and put in some jank like Tide skimmer and Dovin veto, just for the fun of it.

Another amazing deck. I've recently played another simplier and "cheaper" version of it to take rest of clovers but this one is better, do not regret to use some wildcards to craft it instead as it seems an upgrade for me. First 3 games - 3:0 so far. And I won Mardu Winota when he put it on the 4th turn getting Bassry Leithenats 2 turns in a raw. Crazy matchup.

I swapped the Banishing Lights and Glass Caskets for Heliod's Intervention and Revoke Existence. Creatures really aren't your problem when playing indestructible growing creatures - artifacts and enchantments are, especially those that draw cards or duplicate spells. I also flooded really often so I swapped a land for an Idol of Endurance. (I'm still waiting for the grindy matchup where it pays off)

Hey CGB, i tried the lifegain deck for while now and i made have made good experiences with heliods punishment instead of banishing light/glass cascet. It is very cheap on only 2 mana and essentially removes every creature the opponent has, regardless of cmc. Sure, they get it back after a few turns, but by that time, they are dead most of the time.

I agree on the "may" Ajani's Pridemate was a "may" originally, and they changed it for Arena, and it was a godsend. They really should just switch that may out as well

I think there are places where the choice is better. For example Terror of the peaks is not a may ability and I've had opponents play a second creature into my lazatov plating and they are forced to ping themselves or one of their own creatures.

I wasn't running Elspeth in this deck, but it makes a lot of sense. I really feel like a third lurrus was the way to go because the catdog combo is very powerful, but it's starting to look like a good lategame strategy anyway, so 2 of just might be the way to go. Man, I don't like the caskets or banishing lights; I wish we could just run path in this.

Regarding the bit in the intro, Alseid stops Stomp and sends the giant to the bin because the creature is no longer a valid target for the spell. Damage prevention don't enter into it. Dog lets the giant go to adventure zone

u could maybe sac the alseid before the opponent gets to 2 mana but otherwise it won't end well for you, if you sac the alseid he can stomp in response and if he has already cast the stomp, it has already targeted and the alseid will do nothing, the giant will also go to the adventure zone

Protection is basically hexproof + damage prevention + unblockable. It doesn't matter if its already targetted or not, Alseid makes the target illegal causing the spell to fail. A better example is Questing Beast, Alseid doesn't protect anything from it, but Savior does.

@@Flum666 An understandable misconception. Think about Lazotep Plating. You can cast it in response to a spell or ability that has already targeted something and hexproof will stop the effect. Protection works the same way. Regardless of whether something was targeted when cast, the effect will fail if it's not a valid target at resolution. You don't have to take my word for it, there are plenty of rulings and articles about this or you could pretty easily challenge Sparky and try to Stomp something then give it protection. Tangentially related, back in the 90s I learned protection as DEBT: it prevents Damage, Enchanting (meaning auras will fall off), Blocking, and Targeting

I didn't have the Elspeth, Suns Nemisis and I didn't want to spend my wildcards on it. So instead I put in two of Luminous Broodmoth. I don't know if its "better" but it has been a lot of fun so far. Lets you keep the pressure on and turns everything they block into a flyer. Really enjoy your content CGB, thank you.

Heh, that is funny as I have been playing this and won mostly against the simic deck as it cannot keep up without a sweeper. But I go down the wider path with some changes that you might want to try. Also prefer Giant Killer over the Glass Casket and such as I get a definitive result and also it adds a body, and can tap threats. Won games by tapping at end of their turn, then again. Harmonious Archon and the Hoplite often makes people scoop when they hit. Have had Charming Prince in it too but currently trying without it. Decklist: Calling it Harmonious Devotion. I just hit Mythic with some mods to this deck. Remove: 2 elspeth, 4 priests, 2 plains. Add: 2 ajani, strenght of The pride, 4 ajani's pridemate, 2 animal sanctuary. Really fun deck!

Nice CGB was hoping for an update to this for standard 2021. I really like Luminous Broodmoth in these white aggro decks (not sure how to prio - as below i feel i need the 4 banishes). But it gives u some flying, and works great with Alseid, Savior & Daxos. Overkill with a Lurrus as u can give 4x indestructible/protection for 2/4 mana. I gave up on the caskets as I felt i needed 4x banishes against Clover/Ugin (but it does slow the deck).

Ran similar deck to mythic, w/o the planeswalkers. The bones of the deck are the same but 19 Lands ,Karamatra blessing and light of hope. You need to win turns 1-4 with this deck and either hit big by turn 5 of have the life to be creating angels

I play this Deck with Fight as One over Savior, because of the +1+1 and so many Humans and Giant Killer over Glass Casket, because everyone has artifact removal now. I also added one Archon of the Suns Grace for all the Enchantments. Great Deck, hope with Zendicar Rising we get Hallowed Priest or a Pridemate Reprint, otherwise the Deck will lose a Key Card...

I played something similar at a standard event recently with vito jankiness and some lurrus enchantment cycling with hateful. After the event i was looking at either suns grace in or enchantments out. Looking at this i think black splash for eliminate and rider or eat to extinction, vito as an alt win con to get damage through blockers and chip, maybe spear could help with that. All in all i think it's asking for a black splash to give it some better removal, some draw with rites or similar, vito as alt win con. Maybe we'll see some nice stuff in Zendikar for this, depends on mana fixing as well, i love rider but getting 1bb with splash and whatever dual lands we end up with could kill it

I think Elspeth might be the most out of place card. the 4 cmc puts her at a very awkward spot on the curve, even if she provides decent value, I feel playing a 1cmc and 3cmc or two 2cmc spells is more advantageous. Also the escape will pretty much only remove Lurrus targets.

I run a mostly same build. I don't use Elspeth, she was too slow for me, Also I don't run removal, and instead have those swapped for Charmed Stray. Though, they could go for the removal you have... considering that swap now. I only run 22 lands too, rarely ever have any issues. I've been playing variants of this the entire M21 set so far. I love the aggroness of it. --- edit: So I removed 2 light of hopes (still keeping 2, those turn 2/3 priest angels are surprising), added back in the Elspeths and added in 4 banishing light. FINALLY BEAT SIMIC MUTATE!!!!!

I play against this in event heaps and you need the 4th heliod imo. as simic flash has 4 essense scatter 4 quench hitting heliod is easy but it wins very quickly if it sticks. playing a second heliod through a creature heavy hand or a tappland 4drop is the best way to get it down
