nailed osu on the head. as someone who plays it everyday it’s best used as a warm up for fps if you’re not interested in the base game itself. it doesn’t necessarily train anything but will certainly kick you into gear.
@ventdra Жыл бұрын
Actually a great way to approach osu being on the list. I was skeptical at first because you were meme-ing on it but you definitely turned it around with the low tier but high praise for what it is meant to be.

To be fair mouse control is a very good thing to train
@ventdra Жыл бұрын
@jacobe3051 of course, but there are always better options, aimlabs and kovaaks both have mouse smoothness training that works far more consistently. Without all the extra frenzy style aiming that doesn't really help.

Tierlist is great for aim trainers! Aimbeast arenas was definitely really fun when I could play it in alpha (there's rarely anyone playing at times that I'm awake, Australia sucks T-T) Though, I think there are nuances regarding the two rhythm-based 'aim trainers' that aren't addressed that make them a little iffy on their placements. [8:47] Procedurally generated content isn't necessarily good. Memorization has little to no component in aiming, e.g. in Valorant you have the game sense to know where people are going to come/peek from a majority of the time. It doesn't take away the fact you need to hit your shot. If it did have a major impact on aiming, you would see top players in osu just memorizing the hardest map possible and just doing it. Along with this, the difficulty in Beat Aim usually only rises in clicks per second and approach rate, becoming a tool for training tile frenzy > aim. Mcosu also has a randomization feature, however it is rarely used as it can make a maps difficulty extremely varied. e.g. turning a stream (a line of circles) from a smoothness task (keeping your cursor speed at a certain speed) to an unreadable mess (think unpredictable strafes). Like imagine centering 180/SYW bot decides to do 6 strafes in a second just for fun. It also has mods that make the entire playfield move like tamts, or for the circles to strafe left and right. w/ [4:47] I think that both Mcosu and BeatAim have an affinity towards static/target switching, and they definitely do train those two skills. There is definitely a lack of reactive tracking (and consequently evasive switching) in both games. I would not say that it is not relevant in actual shooters, unless Voltaic benchmarks are not relevant either, as Mcosu was my only static training when I hit Nova in ww3t in S3 voltaic. Though, in the end, efficacy for both are lower than traditional aim trainers.

I love 3d aim trainer, and while yeah, there's not much to compete against (10 concurrent players on steam), the ui and difficulty scaling are very easy to use. Not to mention, all of the challenges are neatly organized into tracking, flicking, clicking, and switching. This is huge for me, as I don't care so much for becoming the aim god of all time, but instead I realize that I struggle in certain areas (tracking and switching) and I want to improve those with the variety and scaling that 3d aim trainer provides. Definitely my #1 as a supplement to improving at a game, I can see why it's not as recommended as an aim trainer though.

Higher prices isn't good for games that rely on community content. They've lowered the price down to like 3$ now though so that's very good.
@Deadvalley2008 ай бұрын
Remember, good aim is only one component to skilled gameplay. You also need to play smart.
@ghosttiger38 Жыл бұрын
Actually I would argue that using a suboptimal sensitivity can be quite detrimental to long-term improvement, especially in certain games, due to the balance between arm movement and wrist movement required for high level aim (when I say long-term I really do mean long-term). You know, if your sens it way too high you're gonna end up moving your crosshair 3 heads in a single frame while trying to move it slowly (I've seen that from somewhat high elo players in valorant) and you'll never learn how to use your arm to cover large distances in less time. And if your sens is too low, you'll end up running out of mouse space and not learning how to use your wrist for micro-adjustments
@blixh3ad8 ай бұрын
yep, I played with high sens since 2017. Recently started taking things a bit more seriously and joined my college counter strike team. I had to make my sens 1/4 of the original to consistently hit headshots at expected range, and now I'm struggling to learn to use my arm when aiming and especially when tracking.
