Thanks for your honest review. I've got one sb3000 in a small 10ft X 13ft space with one apartment each to two sides of mine and another apartment underneath me (3 apartments as neighbours in total). So you can see how squeezed I am with neighbours who respect me a lot. This sub rattles everything during music. With movies, I barely screen that because the reverberation would just be too much for neighbours to take. I've tried "12 strong " and it reached an unexpected bass thumping area where I had to turn off everything for fear of neighbours. I took it to girlfriend apartment (17ft by 11ft for a mini birthday get togather) where that apartment only had one apartment (neighbours) underneath and neighbour came upstairs banging on the door complaining that everything in hers was literally vibrating. I'm not enjoying my passion at all. If I do get a bigger place with fewer neighbours I'll go for the sb16 ultra.

@@pauledwards8721 I’m pretty much a noob with audio, I’m trying to learn but don’t know how to take measurements. I’ll try it with a movie too, but I’m probably just going to keep it since it’s a pain to ship back, and it does sound good. But if I could do it over again I’d probably just take the SB3000 because it doesn’t take up as much space and I’m sure sounds fantastic for music and movies

Let me preface this conversation by stating that I have Vulcan ears. Let me also say that I once worked in a very high end audio shop in Mt. View, CA. . . Muons, Blades, $55k turntables, etc. Hence, I have some mild experience & have heard all manner of audio equip. Currently, my entire home theater is SVS ultra. . . towers, center, surrounds. I have had the SVS SB-1000s, then upgraded to 2000 Pro. With respect to the aforementioned 2, yes I could hear a very mild and/or faint noise floor with my ear right on top of the cone. However, when I backed away to the listening position (10'-12') it disappeared. I then decided to take a step up using the SVS upgrade program to the SB-3000s. The noise floor on these was nearly twice as audible, & I could most definitely hear them from the listening position. SVS sent me 2 amps. One was DOA, & the 2nd was a tad worse than the originals. I was told that the SB-4000 & Ultras don't have this issue. Strange how the "monkey-in -the-middle" of their lineup is the only one to have that issue. I was told by someone @ SVS that most people don't have a problem with noise floor in the 3000s, or don't care. Further, I was told that I am in the 1% that can hear it. I guess they don't engineer it for the minority that have exceptional hearing. I suppose my "OCD" is some form of disability. Isn't that some form of racism? ;) Needless to say, I sent them back & reinstated the SB-2000 Pros to my system. On a positive note, SVS did say they would keep my upgrade program open indefinitely until they can resolve the issue.

Not sure why your video didn't pop up for me sooner. I've been looking to upgrade my 1st sub of the 2 I have (an old downward firing 150w RMS). I have a small space (17 ft x 12 ft) with a dropdown projector screen, that is kept off the back wall by 18". Any sub I get has to fit behind the screen, so the 2nd one I ended up getting 2 yrs ago was the SVS PC-2000. A great sub for movies and ok for music. I'm thinking about adding the SB-3000 for its size use for music, and keeping both the SVS subs in use with my 7.2.2 system. Any opinions with mixing a ported sub with a sealed sub? I don't have a lot o knowledge in this area, but I do recognize and appreciate good sound when I hear it in person. My media room is going to become a properly insulated room in my basement, in a stand alone home.

Hi @Shane Lee! I have a dedicated room that is approx. (17.5' x 16.5' x 10') and looking to use for mostly movies now and adding gaming later. Music would be 3rd priority. I am looking at PB-2000 Pro or SB-3000. I like that 3000 has almost double the RMS power over the 2000 Pro, but maybe the ported of 2000 pro is better for my case? Or would my room and case warrant going even bigger to the PB-3000? Seems that might be too much for that room, what I just don't know. Looking for the deep punch in the chest feeling and room pressurization. Which would be best for my scenario? Thanks!
