The svs sb3000 subs are among the very best in the world but especially for the price. I am an audio expert who used to sell mid to highend audio equipment for 17 plus years when younger.i know what great sound is in speakers and electronics.I can emphatically say that these subs are meticulous for music as well as movies because there is no sloppiness whatsoever whatsoever

I also btw use dual sb3000 subs in my nice home theater system with def tech speaker system and I tell you when listening to bluray movies or music concerts its heaven and realism to the max!dual subs are necessary though for good bass room coverage and you dont have to have them totally in the corners at all....enjoy!!!

@@Bobmrob I listened to 703S3 at a Best Buy last week. They didn’t have the 702S3 as of last week. Still waiting to audition them. I would think they are more similarities than differences. The HTM71 S3 and S2 are quite different by virtue of the tweeter on top and different driver sizes.

Thank you - that’s interesting! It’s quite a big price jump from the s2 to s3 with the 702, not sure it seems worthwhile!

My first SVS sub was the PB NSD-12 and ut changed my life (obviously in terms if subs) but had to sell it. Some time later I got the SB-1000. It did not have the overall presence or pressure but was still a very satisfying experience with tight articulate bass. I currently have the SB-2000. I should note that I had 4 subs in my setup prior to the SB-2000 so it's not as loud as what I had but it is certainly more accurate and linear. Saving up for a second one to reap the benefits of dual subs. Thanks for your review and take good care.

@ravemachineproductions5907 330 sq ft is like a 21 x 16 room. That’s a descent size room. Two SB3000 would be great. You would need to run a single SB3000 hot to get the bass you want. Two would be great.

Svs subs like the sb3000 are tight which means it starts and stops on a dime....very important for a good sub...if there is a dead thud....you want to hear a dead low thud with no reverberation and sloppiness

How does this compare to Rhythmic Subs?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I personally don’t have any experience with Rythmik subs but have heard great feedback on them. I would love to test the FVX12 in my system. That is the closest to the SB-3000 in my opinion and goes down to 14 hz at-6dbs. But less RMS than the SB-3000.

I'm thinking between this one and the pb 2000 pro

The PB 2000 with the ports is great for movies. SB-3000 being sealed is great for both music and movies but might be less impactful on movies compared to PB2000 Pro

I'm watched the batmobile scene so many times already not many KZbinrs have shown the scene on KZbin, how did the sb 3000 do with that scene ?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
The SB-3000 handled it with ease. The roar of the engine was impactful. If I had 2 SB-3000’s it would have been even better. Same scene with the SB16 Ultra and SB-3000 tandem brings a smile to my face!

Which would be better 2 sb1000pro or one of these?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. The SB-3000 or the PB-3000 would be better than the 1000 pro series because of the bigger drivers and amplifier power. But it also depends on the room size and whether or not you will be using dual subs.

Does the different subwoofers, sb1000 and sb16 ultra play well together? I’m an amateur at this but read it difficult to match?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. It’s a great question. Yes, they will work together well. Same manufacturer. SB16 ultra will obviously go lower than the SB1000. I have the SB16 ultra and SB-3000. SB-3000 is in the back of the room and the SB16 is in the front of the room. They blend well together. If you had different subs from different manufactures then yes it will be hard to integrate the two in your system. Even with the same manufacturer you need to separate them, front and rear.

What speakers do you use for surround and height speakers with your 702s2's?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Side surrounds are B&W 686 S2, B&W CCM663 in ceiling for Atmos, B&W M1’s for front heights. Temporarily using MartinLogan Motion 4 for Rear Height but will buy M1’s for rear heights soon. Back surrounds are MartinLogan Montage, also temporarily. Plan is to buy B&W 705 S3 for side surround and move the 686 to back surround duty.

First, thanks for the Video. How would 2 of this SB-3000 do on a 25x15 foot room? Enough for Movie?
@magnoliamo Жыл бұрын
Great question. It depends on whether you are utilizing the entire 25x15 space and the SPL levels you are planning to listen to. If you are like me and like to turn it up to 90-95 db then two SB-3000’s might not be enough to move the air. I would go with an SB16 Ultra or PB-4000 for the front and a SB-3000 for the back. Happy listening!

How does it compare to Martin logan dynamo 1100x and 1500x
@magnoliamo2 жыл бұрын
The 1500x replaced with 1600x is in a different class. It is more comparable to the SVS 4000 series and the SB16 ultra. SB-3000 is more comparable to the ML 1100x. ML subs are great subs for music and movies alike. I would say the SB-3000 is slightly more powerful and than the 1100x. They are both good for movies and music. 1100x has the ARC room correction which is a major plus in my opinion. Go with what integrates with your system the best. You can’t go wrong with either one of these subs.
@joekool56762 жыл бұрын
@@magnoliamo appreciate quick reply. Do downward firing subs like ML do better on carpet versus hard surfaces like vinyl or wood? Also do they have any unique placement criteria
@magnoliamo2 жыл бұрын
@@joekool5676 you would use the down firing position for music. It’s better for music that way. Front firing is good for movies but also comes down to personal preference. On hard wood floors you use the rubber feet without the spikes. The built in energy transfer coupler should enhance the overall sound quality and prevent the energy transfer from the sub to the floor.
