First of all, it's not a fair comparison. One is a paint ( white out / white liquid ) and the other is an ERASER!. Both have their place and benefits in art world. But, by far they are different instruments. Your comparing apples to oranges. Obviously, the white liquid will give you brighter highlights while the eraser will fill in the various shades of gray. Last, I should hardly think that chipping away at your errored highlight is a selling point. Many artist have simply erased......and started over.

You can achieve those same effects with a kneed eraser and an eraser if you know what you're doing. You don't necessarily need to use a Tombow and if you use a white liquid paper, I can most probably assure you that with time it'll chip off.

I think it depends on area of usage. depending on what you are trying to achieve, monozero may be the best tool. Just like when trying to highlight strands in hair, I don't think you'd want to use a pen for that. So i believe no tool is better. It's just usage.

Arguably, one's not supposed to use an electric eraser on dark areas; one should plan ahead and leave areas to be highlighted a lighter value, so it's easier to remove with an eraser. So of course if you push that pencil down with a 7B, no eraser on the planet will whiten it, so it defeats the purpose. Also, using pencil only (adding or removing graphite with eraser) can 'increase' its value as it's not mixed media. Using mixed media is often considered "cheating," or at least the visual impact can be explained away by some by saying "ah, not so difficult with white paint". Learning a traditional technique is a worthwhile personal investment.

That's my point as well... I would just call it cheating. Seems strange to add paint to a graphite drawing.

@@lamisachowdhury2475 Cheating is finding a way so manipulate something to make it look better and/or to make the job easier... But in art it's kinda difficult to determine whether something is cheating or if it's just making use of different mediums and thereby adding art value.

Buy a posca paint pen, its much smaller and works like a normal pen

you can also buy whitener that comes in bottles, kind of like a nail polish and use whatever size brush you want that way. It's harder to find here but you can order online from china.

Agree with the people saying to learn correct techniques and plan ahead to preserve whites. Using a stylus before layering is a useful method. You shouldn’t be using correction fluid on artwork you would want to be archival or selling to a customer. They have all sorts of nasty chemical polymers and latex agents in them, plus they yellow over time, or even flake off with different temperatures.

Odd, you recommended the Mono eraser on another of your videos. On that video, you were using a color pencil (coloring a cherry) and it worked very well. Why doesn't it work well on this video? Is it because you are using it to erase a very dark pencil that was applied with a heavy hand? Or was the cherry video that used a red color pencil (color pencil is very difficult to erase) altered in some way to make the Mono look like it was erasing the color pencil very well?

Well, Tombow eraser is not meant to do what you can with a correction pen. This video is more a good drawing tip technic rather than a product comparison

Yea, actually the original price of tombow is $3 or $4 but after including international delivery charges and all the other taxes etc, the cost gets increased to $21 or $22.

This video is very misleading. Lifting very dark solid work is not the intended use of the Tombow MONO zero eraser. In fact, I doubt any eraser is going to be able to lift such dark values. So this comparison is completely nonsensical.

The whitener is great for dark Graphite and just drawing with pencils, but i use the tombow eraser for eraseing the extra pencil lines after tracing with pen. I don’t know what to get!!!

Your artwork is definitely great, but I am not sure it is fair to compare a whitener (correction fluid) to a polymer eraser. They function on two completely different principles. One is designed to ADD a layer of pigment (whitener) while the other is designed to remove medium from your surface (eraser). As the purpose for each of these tools is different, I think it would be more accurate to explain how they BOTH can be used to achieve your desired highlighting. Your eraser example within this video would most definitely have performed worse than the whitener as you had a heavy layer of what I assume to be either graphite or charcoal. That eraser was not meant to be used to lift that amount of product.

This was a very Bob Ross experience for me. I watch you use the correction pen and easily get decent highlights, and then show some really great work you've done with it. Then I try it and the correction pen basically attacked my paper. Splatters all over the place. I think you underestimate how much of your results are talent and experience. I mean the Bob Ross comment as a compliment btw. I respect your work a lot.

I do not recommend the Generals Factis BM2 because it doesn’t erase as well as a regular eraser. I used it and instead it just did lines on my drawing. Do not recommend at all.
