Solid advice and tips Matti! Can definitely relate to the intense commitment level - I shot a little over 60 hyperlapses for Queen's University 5 years ago... averaging around 3 hours per shot, on tripods moving in 1-2 centimetre increments. Needing to use the washroom 2 hours into a 4 hour aperture priority hyperlapse from day-to-night or night-to-day with a ramped shutter is the worst, lol, but they look so good :)

@@danyalvisuals You can see some of them now if you search for "Queens University Initiative Campaign" on KZbin - they're in the video that's 4:26 long. Someone else did the kinetic text, but all the hyperlapses and interviews were filmed by me. Lost a lot of sleep that summer, lol :)

@@danyalvisuals Thanks, Danyal! A little over 60 were filmed in total, with some going into other videos, and a few of them were never used unfortunately. For Final Cut Pro X users out there who can't just use warp stabilizer... Here are a few tricks I discovered over time making hyperlapses: First you set the duration of your imported photos(change duration button) to 1. This automatically shortens every photo to one frame. Then you just change the position, rotation and scaling for EVERY single photo and align them with your horizon in the viewer.(In the Viewers tab, there is an option which allows you to show you the horizon.) Of course you can only use this method if your fix point is in the exact middle of your hyperlase. Otherwise you have to just use a file that you can place (use blending mode for that)on top as your fix point ( a cross or something like that). This method is very time intensive but it will provide you the best results, I promise. Thanks for reading✌
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
Or you export the photos from FCPX as a video, reimport the video and then you can use warp stabiliser. Probably much faster than manually doing it in your method.
@gespoilert18595 жыл бұрын
@@ShotByMyles You can do it that way as well BUT you will probably get at least a little bit of weird and wobbely movements in your stabilized video. To really smooth out the video I normally stabilize my hyperlapse manually and then reimport it and use the stabilization method of fcpx if necessary. I think if you don't have the time for manually stabilizing the hyperlapse the best thing you can do is tracking your fixpoint and then stabilize it with software. You can also try to stabilize it in software only and play around with the settings but the explained method brought me always the best results. Thanks for reading ✌

With Sony, you can use the S&Q. You can customize everything manually - shutter, FPS, ISO. Night hyperlapse is much easier with S&Q. Don’t really care much about the drop in quality. You can’t really tell the difference anyway once it’s uploaded.

Those feels at the end. Yeah the onewheel has a temperature sensor and if the internal components drop below 40-50F it won't run for safety reasons. If you keep riding though it keeps the internal temp high enough to continue riding in the cold. Just don't let it sit in the cold... (all this coming from experience with multiple onewheels and speaking with tech support about this)
