Hi, @HighTechCheck. I think the reason why Samsung did not put a magnetic clasp on their case is because the magnet interferes with the S-pen function. After watching your review, I wanted to buy it instead of Spigen Cryo but then, upon reading the reviews and verifying it on the internet, that seems to be the problem.

I ultimately decided to buy a genuine leather flip-style case for my Samsung S22 Ultra for best overall protection without being bulky. It adds approximately 4-5 mm to the smartphone's thickness but the solid plastic housing/tray is precisely as deep as the device. The camera lenses are protected recess in the plastic tray.

You should test the SPen with the cases on. Some of the items may have magnets in the case (like for stands or rings), which can impact the SPen usage if they're too powerful and close to the screen in normal usage positions.

Dropped mine plenty of times. My phone still looks new afte 2+ years of use. -Have to use two hands for the camera in portrait mode. The flap gets in the way when you take photos or videos with one hand. Landscape mode is not an issue. A widely overlooked case, for whatever reason, is the Otterbox Defender series. This case offers excellent protection. Edges are raised and provide coverage all around, including the cameras. I've used this brand for years and the materials hold-up very well and superior protection.
@thatboyjosh732 жыл бұрын
OtterBox defender is definitely not overlooked, it's been around forever and ppl know it's good. The only problem with it is the price and the amount of bulk and weight it adds to the phone . The s22 ultra is already a big phone PLUS the bulk of the case makes it massive. I think besides that they are excellent cars.

Thank you. I got the Otterbox for my S22. Outer shell is best lens protection ever. Plus I like how it shields the S pen when in the outer shell. It does add a little bulk but the protection is worth it. I was wondering how he'd rate this but apparently doesn't...

The Spigen CRYO Armor case is meant to aid with the cooling of the phone. The blue that you see in the back is the thermal pad seen through cutouts in the case, “the cushion” he refers to on the inside of the case is a graphite pad (another type of thermal pad meant to transfer heat). The idea is that it can suck heat away from the back glass of the phone, then expel that heat through the cut out vents on the back of the case. These are the intended design elements by Spigen. Wether they work or not to actually cool the phone is another story - that would require independent testing.

That case does look really nice, I totally wouldve bought it BUT! It doesnt surround the cameras like the thin fit case and thats such an eyesore to me. If only it wrapped around the lenses!

I kinda figured out a work around for this problem, cause the Spigen Tough Armor has been my go to for years, but I hate the P cutout. Here’s are the options I came up with: 1. Use the case as my daily for more protection, and switch to the Samsung Leather case when I go out. 2. Get the FloLabs camera protector and use it with the Spigen case P cutout. It’ll fill in the cutout, and provide additional camera protection. 3. Get a case like either the UAG Monarch, which has more individualized camera cutouts, AND great protection, or get (preorder) the D-Brand Grip case, which offers great protection along with individual camera cutouts and great grip.

I gotta comment on the VRS Damda Glide Pro!!! There are 2 versions. The pro and the hybrid. The Glide Hybrid has the kickstand, costs more, and is the one you should avoid b/c the kickstand is of terrible quality and design. The kickstand "snaps closed" with a tiny piece of plastic that's going to eventually break/wear down. In time, this won't stay shut. The entire kickstand is just kind of shoddy. And that surprises me because the rest of the case (aka the Pro version) is freaking amazing! If you're wanting a cell case with a card holder, get the Glide Pro and put your own kickstand/holder on it. If you want one. The Glide's credit card cover definitely is "snappy". Both opening and shutting. It feels great. It feels secure. In the video you can hear the snappy sound it makes when opening and closing. I don't know why but I absolutely love it. It just sounds quality. It also sits deep enough to hold 3-5 cards (depends on how thick your cards are and whether they have protruding text). I don't think he tested how many cards b/c it's way more than 2-3. In my testing I was able to fit 2 ID cards, 2 credit cards, and a "fuel saver" card in mine. If all the cards are thin and flat (no raised text) you can work 6 in there. Recently, I've started carrying a credit card, my license, and a small amount of cash in my phone. My wallet has the rest of my cards, my other ID, and the rest of my cash. If my phone is stolen, I have ID, cash, and credit cards. If my wallet is stolen, I have ID, cash, and credit cards...well, credit card. This means unless I get robbed, I always have identification and a means to pay for stuff. As for the rest of the case design features: The case is solid and grippy. It doesn't have that tacky grip to it but the design and cuts make it feel great in the hand. I don't feel like I'm going to drop this while holding it. I love the raised bezel around the screen because it sits well above the screen. It's a little bit bulkier and adds some weight to the phone. Some won't like that. I do. It feels secure in my hands and is honestly more comfortable/easier to hold when sitting down to do a little gaming. Grab yourslef a 3rd party holdering/ring device to really add to the phone's versatility. Grab a SyncWire or a MINDSKY ring holder. Even a PopSocket would be an easy sub $10 choice. Just wanted to chime in and give a huge thumbs up to the VRS Damda Glide Pro. (Not affiliated with them. Not a shill. This is one of the two I personally chose to stick with after testing about 8 different ones.)

Had on other Samsung phones the Smart LED Cover and the UAG Monarch. The Smart LED Cover has a weakness on the hinge system, being bit weak and slowly tearing apart, as there's no locking system to keep the front in place and the front side will be moved up and down in bags or pockets. This was on a S7 Edge and before passing it to a family member, had to get a second cover to replace that one, but I liked the minimal, though useful info the system gave when it was closed. The Monarch is an expensive protection I got for my Note 9, but after 3 years of service, one part of the side has ripped off. For the price, I am a bit gutted. Corner protection and general fall protection are excellent though, but the broken piece on the side bothers me too much to keep it.

And I should know, for my note20 ultra, I have the poetic spartan and revaluation cases, otterbox defender pro, ghostek nautical, aluminum case, and a bunch of unbranded cases, but I seem to always go back to the supcase unicorn beetle pro, I have every color which is only 4. But, for the s22 ultra, there is a camouflage case and clear cases.

Are you using a screen protector with it and if so which one?
@jeromegold32162 жыл бұрын
@Marcus Embry yes I am. It's the Amfilm elastic skin screen protector. Easy installation, no bubbles. Not expensive.

I need to warn you from ESR Metal kickstand, I have it on iPhone 12. That kickstand is basically touching the back of the phone and over 2 months, it has managed to "print" the edges to the iPhone glass back. So I have two lines in glass, like scratch, which cannot be removed.

Very informative. My favorite is Spigen Cryo case.

Going forward, you should set each case on a flat surface and see how wobbly they are, that's one of the biggest reasons I watch case reviews.
@WEHRWULF88142 жыл бұрын
I've tested quite a few myself. The Spigen Cryo-armor will make your hand sweat, so it does help release heat from the phone, but will become annoying after a while. It also has a ton of areas to collect dirt/dust so a big thumbs down. The Spigen liquid air case is better than the thin fit because it gives a better grip and has nice texture. Same size and weight as the thin fit, same price, but much cooler and nicer. The UAG Pathfinder is slimmer than the UAG Monarch, 16ft drop protection, has better grip on sides, and a cutout for a lanyard if that's something you use. The UAG Monarch in carbon fiber is a BEAUTIFUL case, it's the one I use the most. Looks cooler than the kevlar version, 20ft drop protection, and $20 cheaper. If I had to choose one case out of all I tried, it would be the UAG Monarch carbon fiber for sure.

Got the Spigan Tough Armor. Feels very nice. And the stand is enough to do it's thing. But yes metal or something more sturdy would have been nice. overall happy with the case. the Supcase looks nice

I went with the Punk Case, but it doesn't appear to be in this video. It looks really nice particularly because it shows off the actual colors of the phone while still managing to shockproof & waterproof the device at the same time. I got it for about $45 cad after tax with two additional discounts. One discount was via code and it's also currently half off regular price.
@jstodd842 жыл бұрын
Which punk case did you go with, did it fit the s22 ultra well?
@chrisgraham91942 жыл бұрын
@@jstodd84 I chose the 'Galaxy S22 Ultra Water/Shockproof [Extreme Series] With Screen Protector Case [Black].' Copied from the order. I'm still waiting on case. Should be delivered soon. If you look at the photo on their website, I strongly felt that the outer black part of the case went well with the red phone. They had other colors too. I'll hit you back about the sizing when I get it.

I own the uag kevlar and it's one of the best looking cases right now. However I don't think it's worth what it's priced for. Now, one he didn't review that has 5 stars on Amazon which was my first case for my s22 ultra and hands down my favorite is the micger for s22 ultra. It'll definitely protect your phone, not too bulky, and it comes with a built-in kickstand. I'm using the kevlar one since I just received it yesterday but I sure am missing my kickstand so I'll probably be going back to my first one by the end of this week. Hope this helps. Great job on explaining and going through all those cases 👍

Samsung Smart LED Cover without a doubt my choice. Elegant, smart, modern, not too bulky, gives some protection and the make is Samsung matching the phone. I had a similar cover for my last Samsung device and it worked without a glitch for years.

So do I. Otterbox Defender Pro with a Whitestone Dome Screen Proctector. I do notice there is a slight space between the screen protector and the the bottom of the case. It's not 100% flush like the Note 20 Ultra with the same setup. I ordered my Whitestone Dome Screen protector and they said it was on backorder. I ordered it on 2/20 and on the 25th I emailed them and I was passed because when I ordered the screen protected I thought it would be here in the 2 day shipping process so I canceled it. I did not want to use my phone without a screen protector. They refunded me and accidentally sent me the screen protector anyway. I got a email from fed ex saying I had an order from Santa Fe California. I kind of knew that they mistakenly sent it after I canceled it and had it refunded. I wasn't 100% sure when I got the email from fed ex if it was the Whitestone Dome screen protector so I ordered another one under a different email on the 27th and they still haven't shipped that one. I emailed them yesterday and they said it's still on background. I'll just wait for it to come. It's better to have a couple than none. I have like 5 unused Whitestone Dome screen protectors and 3 Otterbox Defender pros for my Note 20 Ultra.
