Blake Lovely’s dress was incredible, and historically accurate to the theme. Since it was based off Lady liberty, and she decided to start off with the “copper” colors was perfect because lady liberty wasn’t green when she was gifted in the 1880s. I love it

The disrespect that Kim Kardashian wore Marilyn's dress. One reason why that dress was so controversial was it was made exact for Marilyn. It was custom to her body and to her skin tone so it appeared she looked naked with rhinestones. it was especially scandalous because of the rumors of her and JFK.

@@sashajunco8694 it's disrespectful because it's a part of history. Any little bit these dresses are touched or worn or even taken out of protection depletes them. She wore the original and then changed but the oil from her skin and makeup is still on there and it'll need to be cleaned. That dress was a very controversial dress and Kim didn't even speak of the history of it. It didn't even give the effect the designer intended. So I think also being completely off the theme seemed to be Kim indulging for her own self and nothing else. Just because you are a fan of something, doesn't mean you should get free range of it. That's just my opinion.

marilyn monroe was born into poverty and had an incredibly difficult upbringing. she paved her own way in hollywood and there will only ever be one marilyn. kim is nowhere near that, she is her own person and i’m shocked and disappointed she was able to wear marilyns dress. i honestly find it so disrespectful to wear such an iconic piece of american history that is also very old and fragile just so you can still end up off theme.

Both Kim K and Marilyn are the most influential women of their respective eras. Both were equally as hated in their time for things that were seen as deplorable vs the 'good girl' image (Eg, Marilyn for posing bare and Kim for the tape). Yet they are both the most copied too. Marilyn was inspirational all the way up to the early 2000s with the playboy club, Paris Hilton, Anna nicole smith etc and Kim has been the blue print ever since she took that torch from Paris Hilton and totally flipped it around. We can say what we want about Kim but if it wasnt for Kim there will be no such thing as an influencer. Now every girl is an influencer, getting surgery, wants curves, dark hair and a tanned/ exotic look. I was not a fan of the dress but there is definitely similarities between her and Marilyn and I can see why they will immediately give her the honour of wearing that dress.

Marilyn was actually a talented actress and singer who could hit five octaves. She was famous for her beauty, scandal and work. She was not famous for having a rich dad. She really did work her way up. She was so much more than she gets credit for. Feminine energy is not just about having curves. Its much more. Its something else. She was a tragic figure, and a cultural phenomenon, and no one will ever compare, especially not a Kardashian. I'm frankly appalled she was allowed to wear the dress. I don’t know what qualifies you to judge other people’s clothes, but at least if you do it for fun, try and educate yourself first. Have you ever even watched a Marilyn Monroe movie? Kim wearing Marilyn’s dress was extremely disrespectful!! If someone was to wear it, it should be a real talented Hollywood actress (like Nicole Kidman for example), not a reality tv star!! In fact, nobody should ever wear this dress, it should stay in the museum and be preserved for future generations to see. The content of this “fashion commentary” is questionable, at best. Kim’s look was neither on theme, nor good. She made the dress look cheap. Wearing a piece of history for a photo op is so cringe. Ok. Whew. This was rough to listen to regarding what the gilded age actually was. The gilded age was 1870s to 1900s….the time of Carnegie and insane wealth but built on the backs of the poor. I need to say for the people in the back BRIDGERTON IS NIT THE SAME TIME PERIOD!!!!! Bridgerton is loosely based in the early 1800s…completely different style.

Why do I think that womens are more judged for the outfit each and every year but the mens are not being judged that much as compared to womens, they wear suit every year its good but still not related with the theme and not a lot of change could be seen but still they get compliments. Lizzo's look was A- only due to the dress portion the designer could have left the bottom part off & it would have been perfection. Kylie's look is a solid D- it looks like a half-ass attempt at a bridal dress so much style from the waist down but then the top is pure t-shirt vibe. Kourtney's look F++ epic fail from the word go missed the theme completely her date though A++ he understood the assignment, yes Kim is wearing Marilyn Monroe's very ironic dress but it was scandalous when Marilyn wore it because of the time she lived in on Kim & even though she lost weight to wear the dress it's stil an A+ but it falls flat for me, Kendall's look is giving So. California meets the Gilded Age the skirt 👏 the top speaks for itself B+ overall. Kris's look is nice but its giving mother of the bride...meh. The whole evening I felt like only a few actually fulfilled the Gilded Age look others were give Great Gatsby roaring 20s, Kim went to the 50s & others were like "I'm wearing whatever as long as I look good" vibes
