Kimi Ni Todoke was one of my favorites I read this year too! You’re so right about the friendships and characters being amazing. I think my favorite ended up Ayane, but each every character was handled with so much care, I can’t help but love them all. I’m currently trying to collect every volume now but it’s a STRUGGLE, unfortunately that’s how it collecting most shojo beat series right now. Although reprint are finally coming, I just got a shipping notification from rightstuf for a few of my back ordered Kimi Ni Todoke volumes.

Alot of people say they like Love Me Love Me Not more than her other work but I absolutely love Ao Haru Ride. I didn't like the ending for Love Me Love Me Not. I was waiting for the moment when the couple that I was rooting for, be together, and when they did, she moved away and then time skipped. She comes back and THE END!! No dates for them, no nothing!! I wanted a few chapters focusing on them being together, being a couple. To me, it was disappointing.

Have you tried Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life? It’s about members of a Koto club in a high school who are all working on the same goal to compete nationally. The friendships and characters are so well-depicted in this manga. All the characters are so lovable, including members in other high school that they compete with, teachers, each's family members. There are at least three ships in the manga so far. I recommend you to read the volumes first then watch the anime so you can listen to the soundtrack of the koto songs. (I’m glad you like Kimi in todoke, this one is on my next year tbr, and I’m excited to try it!)

I'm giving Yatsuba a second try tomorrow. I tried to pick it up a few years ago when my need & tolerance for cuteness was much lower. I think I'm in a much better place to enjoy it now. I keep thinking about re-reading MARS (it was one of the first manga I read many many years ago) but I keep procrastinating as the only way to read it is on KU. Blank Canvas was so very interesting. I actually felt like it gave me some further context for MARS as well in retrospect.

I prefer Strobe Edge over Ao Haru Ride as I think some of the troupes Sakisaka tends to use reads a little better in Strobe Edge. Admittely cause it's a bit of a lighter take on some of the plotlines that Ao Haru Ride uses. I think I'm in the minority who has this preference but I would also say it may be due to me reading them in close proxomity to each other so that would be my only recommendation if you do decide to pick both or one of these series up, read the other after a while! I hope you do get into Sakisaka's works, she has such a charming style plus I don't believe her other series run into the issue that you flagged in Love Me Love Me Not. Also yey Skip and Loafer was another series I really enjoyed this year, I also finally got back into Seinen and enjoyed Monster hugely (which also inspired me to start collecting physicals). I also enjoyed revisiting a favourite shoujo of mine which is "My Lv 999 Love for Yamada-kun" and getting into "Dadadan".

I couldn’t even tolerate any of the characters because all seems to be a mess and in a very odd situation which was really annoying. However after vol 7 (even in vol 7) there were some super cute moments but overall It's not worth investing in. So I just kept the vols where i felt some moments were super cute and made me laugh since maybe only these are the ones i might look back when i am in mood for some dose of cuteness.

The thing about Love Me Love Me Not is that , its the weakest out of all the works from the manga I'll give you that but here , she focused more on the topics that she likes to tackle ( which were also in her previous works , but weren't handled well I guess ) so the romance feels flat in my opinion where in her previous works the romance parts were great .
