You always read so much! I always forget how much I enjoyed Dr Stone tell someone talks about it. The premise for that one shot sounds so interesting. Need to get back into it and give it more of my time. Utsubora is one of my favorites. So creepy and wild! I loved how dark it was. I still don’t completely understand what the hell happens lol but I think that’s the point. Thank you for reminding me that I still have to finish Princess Jellyfish! I loved the anime so much. Think I read up to volume four. Vineland Sage is a weird one for me as I read it and didn’t care for it but years later I had to reread it for a book club and feel in love! I am now hooked! I get that $20 is a lot for a manga but I tell myself it’s really two in one so it’s only $10 a manga volume and that’s cheap compared to 13 to 15 lol 😂 Great video!!!

Soooo glad that you read after school lessons for unripe apples, I was one of the many people who reccomend It! I get ur point about it reminding you of lovely complex bc of the main two being compared to a singing duo😂. I think soonkki(the author) is really good at storytelling! I’m reading cheese in the trap rn and really enjoying it for the mystery elements but it is a bit wordy if ur thinking of reading it. If you are looking for completed WEBTOON I’d reccomend The Wolf and Red Riding hood (veryyyyy funny and the main character is one of my fav mcs ever, I’d reccomend going into this series blind without reading the synopsis). Another good one is Spirit Fingers (about a girl gaining confidence and finding her passion and along the way meets a group of friends that kinda becomes her found family, the art is also superb!). Also, I don’t know how much you’ve read but what are your opinions on barakamon? I’ve read up to vol 15 and it’s made me cry AND laugh out loud so many times. the main one is probably all about j, i didn't think it would ever get published in english due to the dark themes (tw: incest, r@pe, transphobia, gore) but if something like sensei's pious lie is out by kodansha it may be brought in english? also tales of the kingdom is being released by yen press (i haven't read that one) but that also makes me a little hopeful as well

That's so weird, my comment was removed😳. I guess I'll try to remember what I wrote.... Wasn't expecting Our Teachers Are Dating to be a spicy manga 😅. But totally get the whole Yuri issue in manga. I keep trying them out but I usually hate the way the women are written. The women seem so one dimensional and superficial that I have a hard time believing that these figures are meant to represent people cause they're written like such artificial caricatures. Kinda surprised you're enjoying Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon. I hated it after the first volume and to me the rival character felt super forced. In fact, the only Yuri I've read and enjoyed so far (a Yuri manga that is) is from the same mangaka that wrote Sweet Blue Flowers, Takako Shimura and that one is Even Though We're Adults. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on it since I know you have picked it up ( no weird incestuous implications or teacher/student relationships, so far at least). But I did recently read a Korean Yuri webtoon which I really thought was great, and so maybe it's something that you might want to try since it seems like you've been getting into webtoons lately and that one is Her Tale of Shim Chong. I would highly recommend that one for anyone who is trying to find well written Yuri without much luck because it really does a fantastic job of the characters, as well as having an engaging plot within the story.
@murray01222 жыл бұрын
I had the same experience when trying to read more shoujo ai/ yuri. But after I started reading korean webtoons and chinese manhua I’ve found more GL I like. So idk, maybe it’s just the way japanese GL manga (+ gl characters) are written that generally don’t suit my tastes.
@megan26612 жыл бұрын
Her Tale of Shim-Cheong is amazing, truly one of my all time favorite. There’s so many great GL manhwas/webtoons out there, it’s just harder to find than BL and straight stuff

completely agree TT especially with our teachers are dating it was so shallow, i don't think i would have minded as much if they marketed it as a fanservice series but them trying to make us believe their in love?? no chemistry fr,, i think i like doughnuts since it is a slow burn, it really annoys me when characters are together in the first chapter in lgbt manga unless they are already an established couple, and i like the progress of the mc figuring out what she wants, the rival is annoying but i've seen it done much worse so i'm not too fussed lol,, and i plan to continue even though we're adults! i read the first volume ages ago and i need to get back to it, have you read how do we relationship? it kind of gives the same vibes to me minus the cheating,, and thank you so much for the rec, i am always open to gl recs no matter the medium, idk why it is so hard to find the good stuff
@kittykat8962 жыл бұрын
@@tsukkinotes I've heard about How Do We Relationship having the same vibe as Even Though We're Adults, so maybe I should try it out. I know people have been turned off from Even Though We're Adults because of the cheating aspect but for me honestly, I think it plays an important part of the whole exploration theme of comp-het, particularly with those who are older and have already formed established relationships with others and how comp-het effects them by proxy. 🤷 And I do think it really does showcase this realistically and fairly. If you like slow burns and not having Yuri being written fetishistic, then definitely read Her Tale of Shim Chong, you won't be disappointed on those grounds lol.
