Rosie, I just wanted to tell you that ever since I started watching your videos, my thirst for learning more on other cultures is being quenched!! Also, do you know how much of a sparkly person you are? You're so very beautiful and smart and you just look like you have your life together! One of the first videos I watched of you, the first thing I noticed is how radiant you are!!

Hi Rosie, I'm working my English (by watching videos), I'm trying to get my Italian back (I study with a book) and I'm learning Japanese via KZbin videos (Julien Fontanier is the best teacher). There is something I don't really like about applications to learn languages, the speed of the speaking person is really low. When I learned Italian in school I asked my teacher why didn't he had slow speaking videos for us, he told me that it's not the way Italian speak so it was better for us to get used to the real speed of speaking. It was hard in the beginning, but I now think that he was totally right about it, because if you learn with slow speaker when you are in front of real people, you won't understand a thing. I would recommend to anyone learning any language to watch videos /film/series (with or without subtitle) but to get used to the real speaking pace.

After trying out more than fifteen French language learning apps, most of which were nearly useless (Duolingo, Jumpspeak, Rocket Languages, LingoDeer, Babbel, Pimsleur, etc.), and a few KZbin courses, one of which was downright bizarre (Evan Millner’s course in Manesca French, with its emphasis on bad salt, game meat, gold guns, torn waistcoats, and wrecked steel mills), I’ve settled on the ‘Learn French with Paul Noble’ audiobook course, which I’m now halfway through. It’s very well structured, progresses slowly, teaches grammar in an understandable way, and is fairly interactive (as much as you can offer in an audiobook, anyway). I HIGHLY recommend it.

This app seems really interesting, mostly because it offers B2 and C1 level courses. But just like it has happened to you, it has also placed me at B2 level even though I passed telc B2 german. And I really think I know B2 well enough. I was looking for an app, in addition to other resources, to help me reach C1 but because I could not even test the app at C1 level I decided not to purchase it.

This sounds pretty cool. One reason why I'm always skipping your lingoda advertisement is because I learn Russian and lingoda doesn't offer Russian lessons. Maybe I'm gonna give this app a go. And, regarding the driver's licence: I guess in France it's the same as in Germany. You can only legally drive a car on your own when your 18. You can get your licence with 17 but you'll always have to take a person with you who is responsible for you. This person is usually a parent that could just drive you around anyway if they have to be in the same car as you in the first place. You can get a licence for some motorcycles when you're 16 but only if they're not too heavily motorised, and you'll have to do another licence for your car later. Some people do it anyway because they need to be independent as soon as possible (maybe that's why the age for driving is so low in New Zealand because if I got that right, you don't rely that much on public transport) but a driver's licence is quite pricy. I got mine when I was 18 and it cost up to 2000-3000€. My parents and grand-parents payed for it, God bless them, but some have to finance everything all on their own and that can take a while. Hope you found that info useful 😉 Keep it up!
