It's good to note that the Magic Slashes FX is made by a friend of Kripto289(assetstore.unity.com/publishers/5224) who said he helped his friend out a bit with making it, which you can definitely tell by the quality of the effects.

I have bought a lot of assets in my time using Unity, but there's only one that I import into every single project before I do anything else, and that's Rewired. Rewired is a complete overhaul of Unity's input manager (which, let's face it, is hot garbage) and allows for so much more control over, well, controls. It is absolutely indispensable in all of my projects, and until Unity implements their own overhaul, I recommend it hands down to anyone and everyone using Unity today.

My favourite asset is hands-down Script Inspector 3. Being able to write code straight in Unity is a godsend for a hobbyist like me.

PSA: I would be super careful buying anything from livenda, in this case CTAA. They have a really long history of abandoning assets, not really writing stuff efficiently, and straight up lying about the capabilities and performance of their assets. They also have in the past gone after people on the forum for criticizing their assets on the forums. Examples: Their last asset, which was a screen space reflections effect, made huge promises, which where often technically true but totally impractical. eg: rendering the scene twice with two different FOV's and then advertising it as capable of off-screen reflections, while showing the numbers from that feature turned off (which mean't it was about twice the framerate). It was basically an unusable solution outside of tech demos =

Aura 2 is amazing but getting the effect that you want can be a bit difficult to get the hand of for starters. Would be great if you could make a tutorial on aura 2 and volumetric lighting

Don't forget Odin - It's a massive improvement on the Unity's inspectors. Everything is interlinked, comes with its own faster serialization system (if you don't want to use default .NET) and if your data is heavily defined in Unity, this is go-to (unless you've went ahead and just write whatever XML/JSON/whatever yourself manually)

@@samofohachinweubaemmanuel3101 Fancy and more useful tools in the inspector, like reordering lists and more intuitive copy-pasting... That's on the non-programmy side. On the programmy side, basically faster code that you can use outside of Unity.

People note that CTAA's developper have a bad reputation of never bringing stuff on time and ever achieving promises. The forum is very slowly getting update for this specific asset. Read before buying. That said, i have bought it myself and i'm somewhat glad with it, but the price is not worth it to my taste.

Dark City 2, I was shocked by how many props and modular parts there were in the asset. Also the scifi shaders are crazy good. The impact was probably a lot greater because I bought it after buying "the hunt", what an underwhelming asset.

Great video Sykoo! I've been working on an RTS battle simulator recently and have been struggling with optimization, do you know of any assets that allow skinned mesh shader instancing? Look at some of the top channels how they do an intro. its not watch an ad, intro, another ad, thanking everyone, little bit of content, more thanking and plugs.

Hi, i would really appreciate a video on inverse kinematics. Maybe even an entire 3D-character rig in Blender and setup in unity... I used MakeHuman to create 3D-chars but I always had a hard time to get them working with IK in unity....

@@sykoo if you like it then make such video. I don't mind. I said that because lots of people start making game without any paid assets. Why don't you drop a poll and ask people. 1. Do you use paid assets in project. 2. Use free assets. 3. Don't use assets.

Using assets to improve your project it’s not a bad thing at all, if you flip assets and sell them without putting any effort then yes, it’s bad, and it’s one of the worst things that the unity community does. But if you’re making a game in a very small team and you see a huge time saver.. why don’t use it.
