I like the 57x, but they need to fix the fuel tank glitch and add more chassis and transmissions with atleast a retarder. It's more fuel efficient than the Cascadia and 49x but gets out performed due to tank size and transmissions.

I used to drive the Kenworth T680 when ATS first came out, but I switched to the Volvo VNL because of the dinette setup looks so cool in the sleeper. 😎✌🏾

Thanks for another great video A.P. Right now, my most favorite truck in ATS is the International 9900i. I really like the combination of classic interior and exterior designs. I especially like the engine sounds because they sound the most accurate compared to the other classic trucks (W900 and 389). Also, the 9900i has the best turning and maneuverability especially when compared to the W900. In addition, the forward visibility is very good for a long hood truck. The main drawbacks of the 9900i are that it does not have a digital speedometer, no onboard GPS, or an indicator to let you know what gear you are in. Even so, I have become accustomed to using the analog speedometer because of its larger numbers that I can easily see, and I have the cabin accessories DLC so adding a portable navigator is no problem. Even the main mirrors' placements were easy for me to adjust to after a while. These drawbacks were not dealbreakers for me. As for modern trucks, I still like the Freightliner Cascadia as my favorite. I am also extremely interested in the new Western Star 57X, but I want to test drive it up to 10,000 miles before considering it as my new favorite. A few of the features that I like about the 57X are the placement of the hood mirrors which makes them a lot easier to see than the Cascadia, the new grille and bumper designs, lighted air intake covers, D-ring main mirrors, and blind side indicator. It seems that Western Star and Daimler Trucks took the best features from the Cascadia and the 49X and combined them into one truck, which I think was a great design choice. Either the Cascadia or the 57X will probably become my new favorite truck in ATS soon, because I really like the modern technology and the digital dashboards. My current top five trucks in ATS: 1. International 9900i 2. Freightliner Cascadia 3. Western Star 57X 4. International LT 5. Peterbilt 389

Melvin I am currently driving the 9900i but am going crazy without my cruise control indicator that shows when it’s on and what speed it’s set at. Do you have some way to add this with that DLC you mentioned?

@@AbleAnderson The Cabin Accessories DLC that I mentioned adds the GPS Navigation display, but not the cruise control speed indication. There is a mod called "International 9900i Improved Dashboard" and it can add the cruise control indication.

I had my Kenworth W900 for more than 400 000 miles. About a month ago, I swapped for the Cascadia. Visibility and fuel range is way worse than on the Kenny. Some positives: Feels more agile, seems to have a smoother engine curve, shows instantaneous consumption

I usually run the Mack Anthem (Mack MP8 w/ Allison 7-spd) for regular cargo runs using the medium 6x4 chassis. It handles well and I find the transmission helps me take off and get to highspeed quickly for cargo under 60,000lb. I have a Peterbilt 389 (CAT C15 w/ Eaton 18-spd) with the long 8x6 chassis for any long range haul and heavy lifting.

My overall alltime favo is western star 49x. The second is peterbilt 579 and The third one is Internacional Lonestar. And imo the worst is The Mack anthem and Internacional 9000

The Cascadia, 579 and T680 have probably the best visibility if you're not running VR or track IR, a lot of the trucks it's very hard to see the side mirrors without either of those, or moving the driver position to a weird spot where you can barely read the dash, the worst offenders being the Mack and the Internationals. Stock sounds all suck, I couldn't imagine running ATS or ETS2 without a sound mod. The performance between the 605hp cummins X15, 600hp Detroit DD16, 600hp Volvo D16 and 625hp Cat C15 are basically identical given how ATS/ETS2 mechanics work (HP is meaningless torque is the only thing that matters in sim) so all the trucks but the Mack can get the maximum torque output for heavy cargo

MOST of the visibility issues are resolved by going with VR, i found out. Even Triple Screens fixed side mirror vis issues. But VR fixes ALL of it. You can SIT UP and see over your hood mirrors if you need to (You can even walk behind your chair and stand in the sleeper!) From a VR User: The best overall feeling truck, strangely, is the International 9900i. Yes, the door mirrors ARE still in an awkward place, but they encourage you to check outside your doors. It's also more maneuverable than the W900. However, I do dislike the fact the 9900i lacks any sort of digital truck monitoring hardware OR GPS. But it's an old truck. overall best driving experience. Thank goodness SCS added mobile devices to the windshield for navigation. Must have had the 9900i planned for awhile to implement that FIRST. If I'm honest, if you used a classic interior in the W900, It would become a very nostalgic driving truck like the 9900i. Would probably be more enjoyable OVERALL despite the worst-in-game maneuverability in a dock yard. Best interiors go to the Cascadia and the 57X. Because of their multi-function displays, you get more information from those trucks than most other trucks in the game. I have this complaint about the Blind Spot awareness in the 57X (and I say it about REAL Cars with the same feature): IT NEEDS AN ICON ON THE DAMN DASHBOARD IN ADDITION TO THE RIGHT PILLAR. I want to know BEFORE I want to try and move over if it's clear or not. The indicator is TOO FAR RIGHT for an easy glance, even in VR. Dash setup goes to the Mack Anthem. VR is set up in such a way that it offers the best analog dash cluster of all of the trucks still using analog. Including the Volvo VNL, which is arguably a fundamentally similar truck (given that Volvo owns Mack). However, for those that are hard-set on the classic PACCAR trucks, the W900 still sucks for drivability. Still has the most class. But does become more enjoyable with VR because you can look around corners better. So if you REALLY are set on your PACCAR trucks, the Peterbilt is a better choice IMO. I don't like the later model PACCAR trucks. Didn't like them with monitors, don't like them with VR. I know I didn't put any other Internationals by name. I don't hate the Lonestar. I in fact like it. But the interior just doesn't seem that good. It's got EXCELLENT forward visibility though

I hate that the T680 doesn't have a digital speedometer. They do in real life. The digital display is identical to the Peterbilt 579. Not sure why SCS did that.

Don't forget that the T680 in the game is the early versions of the T680 in real life. Perhaps that one you have seen in real life are a newer model than the ones made in the game.

Most of the mirror problems can be solved by putting the seat farther back in the settings for it. The seat is too far forward to be able to see the mirrors without turning the camera towards them.
