Best Backpacker Headlamp? Princeton Sync

Just picked up one of these based mostly on this review. The knob control and being able to get to a night vision saving red light without having to cycle through white lights is a huge deal. It's idiot proof (which is important for me), has great battery life, and uses AAA batteries which readily available everywhere and most of my other non-rechargeable gear runs on AA or AAA keeps it simple. Really grateful for gideonstactical... thank you!

I found a cool little head lamp at the Safeway I work at. Super basic, but it's only $6. I used it for a while when the lights for the parking lot weren't set for the change yet. It kept me from getting run over several times

Good review...you should check out the Black Diamond Spot too....it has less battery life but is 300 lumens. It's a solid light in that price range

Thank you for that review, Brother !!! That option, to go straight to the red, is perfectly suited for the outdoors. Night vision is not compromised, unlike with a white light. Question....have you done any reviews on any multi-power-capable (rechargeable battery pack, rechargeable batteries, regular batteries) headlamps ? You know, something that will take all of those ? A headlight that can be recharged by a take-along solar panel charger (or a battery bank), or if that has run out...they can put regular batteries in it. Keep up the great work on your videos !!!

LL Bean has Ptec make their headlamps. The one I bought from LL Bean two years ago was assembled in the US, pretty sweet! Anyways Ptec makes a great headlamp. I always seem to reach for the Ptec (LL Bean) over my Black Diamond Spot.

Looks like a fine light. In my opinion, the Olight H1R is so far and away a better headlamp than anything I've tried. Certainly better than any of the AAA plastic headlamps. But I realize it's in a different category than these.

Needed a headlamp that had red first for astrophotography. This does the trick and i dig the dial. Great price...sold!

They have a 150 lumen and 200 lumen , max run time on the 150 is 155 hours and the max run time on the 200 is 144 hours. Is the extra lumen worth the battery life??

Is it really necessary to wear sun glasses indoors or in the shade when you're shooting video? I always felt its rude. Not trying to be condescending. Love your videos. Trust your opinions. Like the sun glasses even. Bug eyes just not cool.

05generic nah, I've not had any issues with any of the (way too many) olights I own. Also important to remember they have quite a few US employees.

The Alabama Bushcrafter just because Walmart sells it, it is crap? Energizer headlamps are sold at a lot of other places. Walmart sells Maglite flashlights and Buck knives. Are those crap because they come from Walmart? There is a lot of real junk at Walmart, but there is some legitimate stuff of you know what to look for.
