I’m looking at this place for my daughter’s honeymoon ( I have spent COUNTLESS HOURS RESEARCHING to stay in her budget ) - this looks like it might be it!!! I read the Oyster review but yours really truly had insider tips & I am so grateful! 🎉

Hi FitKat! Oh wow this would be a great place for a honeymoon! Close to the Atlantis casino and the waterpark ($). The beach is nice but it's best to try to book it when there aren't too many cruise ships coming in (check CruiseMapper.com for this) because Cabbage beach (in front of the Riu) is a popular destination for cruiseship passengers. Glad you found the video helpful - thanks for watching!

Great review. Did they have a “white party”?
@ChristineTurner Жыл бұрын
Hi MSew! No this isn't one of the party resorts - no white party. That said, they did have a theatre and some nights karaoke & I heard that got a little crazy. The drinks were so strong there, that I didn't even make it close to staying up that late!!

Tune in for my next trip (starts Saturday) when I'll be filming from the Cook Islands and then Hawaii! I'll be LIVE on YT from Honolulu Saturday at noon Pacific time and then Monday at noon Pacific from Rarotonga! Can't wait to share this with you guys!

Hi Sharo! It was fine. When we were there, it was very hot most days (and ridiculously windy & rainy others) but I felt very comfortable in the room. Not too cold though. Thanks for watching!

Hi! I am considering this resort or the Warwick on paradise island. I read online that the Riu has 24 hour food room service. Is that so?
@ChristineTurner Жыл бұрын
Hi Angela! I'm not a room service person but seem to recall seeing a menu in the room (and as a "Palace" level Riu, that's typically included. I really like the Warwick, but if you want the best ocean views, that's over at the Riu; whereas, the Warwick faces the inlet between Paradise Island and the mainland. Still nice, but not quite the same.

Just came from there Dec 6-10 and I the coffee shop cakes was the best the red velvet and carrot cake was the freshest, but I did not know that they had a little something something behind the bar alcohol they do have honey, the ladies on the morning shift act like they didn’t know where it was but the night shift did great place overall oh and the auction and the RIU bucks get your money up by participating in the activities, yoga volleyball, bocce ball, bowling dance class pool swim up bar so you can be bud on RIU merch

Also check the expiration date on they sports bar snacks sandwiches 🥪 I’m sure they was fresh but the dates on them was like July 3 2033 and again I was there Dec 6 .. not a big resort but that’s great think I my eyes o and don’t forget your toothpaste unless you wanna pay 10 dollars for regular Colgate

Hi Brandon! I didn't try the red velvet or carrot cake but now I wish I had! Agreed - participating in the activities so you can bid on free stuff during the auction - brilliant. I just wish I'd known that there were only going to be 3 items at the auction - would have snapped up the Bahamas hat in a heartbeat!

Hi Brandon! Yes the nearest shop to the Riu is astronomically expensive but if you walk down to the Comfort Suites, there is a small mall across the street with a mini grocery store and it's much more reasonable. Plus they sell the most delicious Jamaican Patties! Thanks for watching and for your comments & recommendations!

Hi, How would you rate this vs riu palace negril Jamaica?
@ChristineTurner Жыл бұрын
Hi John! I haven't stayed at that Riu, so I can't compare first hand; however, I can say that the main difference is walkability and overall safety in Bahamas vs Jamaica. If you're planning to stay on the resort grounds, I'm sure they're both very similar in quality but if you want to go out and explore, I'm personally much more comfortable doing that in the Bahamas than in Jamaica. Hope that helps!

@ChristineTurner thank you for your feedback....how did you find cook island?
@ChristineTurner Жыл бұрын
@@John-es7zn It was great! I haven't been to Fiji or Tahiti [yet] but I would imagine it to be very similar but WAY more expensive. The people were very kind and I felt totally safe. Prices were decent. Food was very good. Ocean was a bit rocky in spots but there were definitely some beaches that were gorgeous and very swimmable. Highly recommend it for the price!

Do they have hot chocolate by chance?

Yes! Found it at the breakfast buffet and you could add a little something to it if you choose!

I want your life/job. How would I get started? Lol

Ha ha I just read an article that 39% of travel agents in North America that started in this profession in the past 5 years make about $25,000/year. Is that what you're looking for? 😆 It's a tough job but the rewards can be very good.

Hi @what163! Nice! Do you also head over to the Atlantis and to the downtown Nassau area? I sure do love the area! Thanks for watching!
@what163 Жыл бұрын
We go to Atlantis for some casino fun, also occasionally fish fry. Our favourite is to just sit on the beach and plant ourselves like trees and just enjoy the light, colour and sun. Our absolute favourite holiday place, the food, the people and the view!!@@ChristineTurner

Wow that's a lot of visits. We just booked this for the first week in July. However, I am having serious second thoughts based on the amount of bad review about mold, coffee shop not opening till 10am, king bed is two beds pushed together, beach always busy and lots of disturbances by locals selling things. Should I be concerned?
