Enjoyed the elk jam and hearing them call to each other. Always happy to see your dad along for a hike. Hope you ate at the Big Horn, it's my favorite for breakfast !

Hi Nick! I think you are among the best KZbinrs at verbal commentary. All of your videos are excellent! P.S. It speaks very highly of you that you so often take your parents along, who may otherwise find the long driving problematic.

@pw2883 Thank you PW! I appreciate it. I am glad I get to take my folks along so they can enjoy the park like I do.

Nick, my son and I hiked the Ute Trail on July 23 to Castle Rock and back. It was our first hike in RMNP. As we got near Castle Rock I thought I saw people coming up the trail toward us but my son said "Those are elk dad." There were 7 of them; we got off the trail around 10 feet and they all walked down the trail right past us. Anyway, thanks for your videos on the Ute Trail because that's why we went there and it was great.

@jamesnasium4035 Wow! Ute Trail to Castle Rock sounds like an awesome hike! Glad you guys had a good time and saw some elk up close!

@@nicksangetta8874 I think I might have the name wrong of the rock we hiked to. A guy we met on the trail called it Castle Rock, but it is not the place you hiked to in your Castle Rock video. The rock we hike to was a rock just off the trail, not a hard hike. I am not a very strong hiker. Anyway, it was fun.

@@jamesnasium4035 I gotcha.. I was thinking you did some crazy hike where you dropped it down to Castle Rock. Lol. You never know! Some people do some seemingly impossible hikes. But I will have to do some looking and see if I can find anything named Castle Rock up there off the Ute Trail.

Every year you can count on them hanging out in this area. Great place to get photos since there is no parking. Just roll down the window and take your shots since you have to stop for them anyway.

Love this hike! Did you happen to find a set of Honda car keys while you were up there? lol. They came unclipped from my bag last fall when I was hiking this, had to get a ride back down from a nice gentleman on the trail, rent a car the next day, get a new key made, meet the Estes locksmith at the trailhead so he could program the key...all sorts of fun. Love your videos!

@@emilietaylor3489 oh no! That doesn't sound like a fun time. But no, I didn't see them.

That male with the abnormal antlers made me feel sad then the little baby ran across the road and I was uplifted once again

I haven't seen elk down on the road there. Good thing there wasn't cars or you never would have made it through. Lol.
