I put the original HD Lithium battery on my bike, the new HD batteries are the same size and the old GM batteries. I am not a fan of Advanblack had some bad experiences with a rear fender I bought from them in the past. Have to remember everything you get from them is made in China.

Also nice that the AdvanBlack lithium battery seems to be same size as OEM….many of the lithium’s are smaller, requiring some padding filler to be used to prevent it from bouncing around. 👍

you are correct, Lithium has to have a BMS Battery Management System or you run the risk of damaging the battery and possible fire. another advantage of them is they maintain full output till dead. unlike regular batteries that have less output as they grow weaker. a lithium can also discharge more and not hurt the battery. i have heard down to %30 is ok where as regular batteries not lower than %50. im sure battery manufactures vary too. works on electrical stuff but hates it on a bike....🤣🤣. good vid

Wise are those who use a battery tender suiting their particular battery. (Also wise are those who install an aftermarket starter solenoid end cover and inspect their solenoid contacts while in the area because they're cheap to replace (especially if you can remove the power cable from the solenoid without having to remove the starter motor but they tend to seize) but vital to cranking your engine. Aftermarket solenoid contact kits which include the seals and have multiple contacts for different applications are under 30 bucks online. Bad contacts kill batteries and overheat starter motors by supplying insufficient voltage. If you need a battery, inspect power and ground connections on removing the old one.

OK so I don’t understand something. If you have to use a different charger then you do with the AGM battery why will the charging system on the motorcycle be OK? Next point I wanna make, the cute little display on top of the battery does you know good since it’s covered up by the ECMright? Next point, I was told you should always remove the fuse anytime you do any electrical work. I see you did not do that. Do you not agree with that? Just a few things I wanted to mention.

I have a high compression engine with CR, larger starter and #2 battery cables. Still have a hard time starting when the engine is really hot. Looking for the most powerful battery that will fit in the box of the Road King. I already had one lithium battery from another maker and wasn't that happy with it. Anybody tried these batteries yet on a bike with a hard to start engine?

Just make sure you get a trickle charger and plug hooked on to the kid that but then we’re not using it. It works great. I got one. my fat Bob. Used to drain out in two weeks on the battery not using it because of the key fob security system a Harley guy told me a 2009 Fatbob needs to be on a trickle charger when you’re not using it for the battery will keep draining and that’s how it was from the Harley place brand new they will not hold a battery full when not. plugged in

I am surprised being Lithium it even weights 6lbs. I use a Lithium in one of my bikes and a NOCO 5amp charger. They can switch between battery types. It definitely made a difference switching mine out.

Nice video, very detailed and good tips. One suggestion would be to use screwdrivers that are Screw Holding if there's a chance of losing the fastener. The fasteners are non-magnetic so theres no way of holding the screw or getting to it if its out of reach. I learned the hard way, lol.

I have a lithium on my dirt bike, and custom bike. Softtail has a new traditional one but a big fan of the lithiums. Am surprised by the dimensions, it looks almost as big as far as physical size. Mine are smaller 😮

Lithium ion batteries require current draw to warm them up in cold weather before they can turn over the engine. The weight of lithium ion batteries are their real benefit. Great vids and content :)

Lithium batteries can charge substantially faster than lead acid, handle extreme buster better and hold a charge multiple times longer. I’d say the performance is the benefit, weight is just a plus.

I will keep my HD Tri Glide OEM. The computer is designed to read what the bike came with. Even changes spark plug wires that are not compatible with the computer can cause problems. Keep the bike OEM.
