In my opinion, Phyllobates Vittatus/ Lugubris are an excellent beginner frog. They can be kept in large ish groups. Don't have particularly difficult heating and humidity requirements (low 68-75 degrees Fahrenheit and 70%-100% humidity is fine.) They're well suited to living in bio-active tanks and quite easy to breed. Finally a minimum tank size of 18 x 18 x 24 for three frogs. Plus they get bolder with age. Lugubris care will differ slightly.

I find I can't get enough information on dart frogs I'm always looking for as much information on keeping these amazing animals I have been interested in dart frogs since the early 90's when I bought my son some toy dart frogs. It wasn't till recently that dart frogs where not in the pet trade until 1995.The only thing that surprised me about dart frogs is that even though they live in tropical rain forest they can't tolerate high temperatures. My kids think I'm crazy because I never had an air conditioner for the humans in the house but now I have one for the frogs lol. Keep up the good work

I was curious on the most ideal isopods for a species like the leucomelas, would something as a dairy cow survive in Viv without the frogs bugging them since they are so large? Or should you get a mixture of a “large” species like the dairy cow and add in something like a dwarf white species?
