I recommended my brother a 40 gallon and told him it would last him a while. He has a Peninsula Cooter, however. I was WRONG. He grew to 10 inches in less than 2 years.

This is a great video for anyone getting (most any) aquatic turtle for the first time! I hope it reaches a lot of people before they start out! 💚🐢 I definitely made all the typical mistakes on my hatchlings start-up tank, and wasted a lot of money. Zilla sells a kit for turtles, it's a 20L with most of the starter supplies and I wish I had never bought it! I had everything ready before I even found a breeder and picked out my hatchling. They immediately recommended I start with a 40 gallon for the hatchling, and these turtles are expected to reach up to only 7 inches!

My first tank was an 10g we moved and I released baby boy after that I just said F it and got an 75g and now I’m watching you to help me set it up

your turtles look cozy. I have 3 turtles. 2-12 inch females and a 7 inch male but I use separated 110 stock tanks and thinking about going to tanks so I can watch them.

I hear you, tanks are a great way to see your turtles, stock tanks provide lots of space, definitely trade offs!

Your 210 gallon tank is the stuff of envy... I started my two in a 75 gallon. Now I have two 75 gallons because they liked to bite each other. Lol.

Hey LLYT, you talked about a lot of standardized stuff here. In every video of yours I see your LLYT symbol. I work as a lead custodian at a major manufacturing firm and I network with a lot of people (3-13 PER DAY). Everyone I talk to knows I have tanks. I only have fish in my tanks but I enjoy your turts info. I think it would be cool if you made a hoodie I could wear to spark conversation and up my networking numbers to about 4-14 people per day. Have you thought about making anything like this?
