Behringer pedals are fantastic for us bedroom players. I personally own about 20 of them and that's the only brand I own. They are all clones of great pedals so the tone to dollar ratio is incredible. I really really wish they would clone a studio compressor with full controls. I've had most of mine for nearly 7 years and they all work like new. I love them all.

I have a fully stocked Behringer PB600 pedalboard/case with the Compressor Sustainer, Super Fuzz, Ultra Octaver, Blues Overdrive (now OOP), Ultra Vibrato and Multi-FX pedals on board, and I also own a VP1 Vintage Phaser. Yes, the Super Fuzz is also my favorite from this selection. A super versatile fuzz and it's really useful to have the option to run a clean boost into the overdrive and/or with the compressor. I also really like the Ultra Vibrato (another OOP Boss pedal clone from what I hear) which does a simple job really, really well and the Ultra Octaver, which is weird and glitchy and thus fun. Really good down to earth review by the way. Keep up the good work, I'll be checking out your other videos.

I appreciate how you take time to explain about each little feature, and demonstrate each mode WITHOUT showing off too much. Interesting with the background info too. (I wish someone would take this approach reviewing MXR's compression pedals: the dyna comp vs script version vs dyna comp deluxe vs super comp vs custom comp vs custom comp deluxe vs m76 studio compressor. The compression pedal videos are the WORST with people playing the most awful showoff wankery, instead of taking time to explain things. I just can't!) Anyway, thanks for explaining the ins and outs of this so we know what to expect with the footswitch, and showing us how it sounds on different guitars, ie soapbars vs humbuckers. As for which is my favorite Behringer pedal, the only one I have so far is the Digital Reverb DR600, which I got because it was cheap and had a bunch of modes (spring, plate, hall, gate, room, modulate) that I was curious about (particularly the plate reverb). My first impressions were that it's not going to replace my Fender combo amp's real spring reverb anytime soon, but I haven't played with it that much yet, so maybe there are some sweet spots that will come in handy. If I get serious about a reverb pedal it'll probably be a real spring reverb like the Danelectro Spring King, a Catalinbread Talisman for plate reverb, or a Boss FRV-1 but then we're getting into some serious money, which is where I'm hoping this little Behringer will help with giving me a basic idea of what the different types do and what type I might want to invest in later on. And serve the purpose for the types of reverb I'd use only occasionally. The Behringer SF300 sounds as good as the "real deal" so I ordered one, can't wait to try it out. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
@brunoliamat Жыл бұрын
Man, I theoretically understand the criticism on the plastic housing but really, you'd really have to be a beast to break them. I do not know how you lads turn you pedals on while playing, but I tend to use my foot carefully, metal, titanium or whatever casing that is. Been using three of them for over a decade now (no joke) - the TS clone one, the Reverb one and the analog delay -. So far, so good. I also have a Behringer compressor and this one had a problem in the on-off switch after two months I bought it. Easily fixed at home. I'm not saying these are heaven, I am saying they're no toys either.

I really love the vibrato pedal. I got one after I saw a side by side review between that and the original Boss VB-2. @thiscorrosion9002 жыл бұрын
The Blues Driver (or Behringer equivalent) will NOT give you a good fuzz sound. It's more of a clean blues to "clean" hard rock higher gain overdrive, that's it. For something like a Hendrix sound, or a modern Smashing Pumpkins buzzsaw type Muff Fuzz sound, this is the kind of pedal you need. Even for "shoegaze" you could use this pedal and be happy with the variety of sounds you can get out of it.
@joeking433 Жыл бұрын
I have the Boss FZ-1, Swollen Pickle, Big Muff, the EH Metal Muff, The TC Honey Pot, and SF300 and the Behringer is my favorite. It has the most sustain of any of them and the Boost knob makes it the best fuzz of all of them, IMO. If someone made a cool enclosure for them I'd do it although I wouldn't do it because I would fear it getting damaged. I just think it deserves a cool enclosure because it's the best of the bunch as far as I have seen. If it has any cons it would be that it's noisy but that can re remedied with a noise gate. That usually goes along with having huge sustain.

I've owned a couple Behringers, but had to sell almost all my gear, including guitars. I wish I held onto the fuzz. I still have the Chorus which I love. It suits me and I didn't want to have to search one out again someday. I've had no concerns or problems with the Behringer casings. I think if someone is seriously concerned about that, then buy 2 at the same time. 2 cost less than one of any other pedal. Or take the route Eric suggested. I haven't found Behringers to be cheap, rather they are inexpensive. I bought into all the talk that they were worthless. What a mistake. Many non-level professional guitarists are missing out by not at least seeing if these suit their actual needs. I could go back and buy Strymons, but even in a performing band they offered more than I could use. Excellent video.

I have the SF 300 Super Fuzz, the HD 300 Heavy Distortion, the VD 400 Vintage Delay, the VP 1 Vintage Phaser and the TU 300 Chromatic Tuner. All except the VP 1 are housed in plastic. Honestly all of them sound great, I really like the HD 300 Heavy Distortion. It’s very heavy as the name implies. Everyone rags about the plastic housings, but the thing you need to know is that it is thick heavy ABS plastic. You’re going to have to work to just break it. The VP 1 Vintage Phaser is in a pretty good sized metal enclosure. As I said earlier, they all sound pretty good. Thanks for the second look in this video!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

That’s awesome you’ve got so many of the behringer pedals, Chris! You are right, the plastic is very sturdy, however the hinge mechanism they use on their footswitch sections leaves a lot to be desired to me. I can definitely feel the footswitch part flexing. But again, as long as you’re not stomping the heck out of it you should be fine! I bet you could do a tour with a board full of behringer pedals with one of those fancy loop switching units. Too much has been made about Behringer pedals being made of plastic. Big Fcking deal. Let's assume you decide to toss the plastic pedal 40 ft across stage to your sound tech, and you happen to overthrow him. Assume the pedal smashes into a concrete wall, and it breaks (not saying it would, but it could). What do you do?? Well, the next time you want a pizza, just eat a bowl of Ramen noodles, and use the Pizza money to buy another $30 Behringer pedal. Problem solved! The SF300 Super Fuzz is quite a bargain at $30 so you could shell out $60 and buy 2 SF300's and always have a spare on hand. Although it would be nice if the SF300 was in a metal box, it's plastic enclosure is not flimsy. The enclosure is hard, solid, and sturdy. (Since I frequently use this pedal at home, I might add that my bare feet prefer the SF300's Boss-style footswitch (which is part of the enclosure) as opposed to the hard, metal footswitches found on my MXR, EH, and other pedals. I have had 2 Behringer pedals (the SF300 Super Fuzz and the EQ700 7-band EQ) for over a year. Today, both of them look and function as if they were brand new. As far as their construction is concerned, they remind me of my 2 Arion pedals that I bought in 1986. (Like Behringer pedals, Arion pedals were also made of plastic.) 37 years has now passed, but I still have and use both of my Arion pedals to this day. Despite their plastic enclosure, they never broke (or even cracked) and they still work fine today. (I did replace the cheap plastic knobs on my Arion SAD-1 Stereo Delay about 10 years ago.) It's nice to have guitar pedals that are built like a tank. (Mutron would drop test their pedals from heights around 30 feet.) But unless you are the type that really abuses your gear and/or you weigh 400 lbs and routinely jump on your pedals with all your weight, you shouldn't have to worry about breaking the plastic enclosure of a Behringer pedal. Honestly, I'm more worried about the lifetime of those cheap Chinese-made, surface-mount components inside Behringer pedals (as well as most other pedals made today) than I am about cracking a plastic enclosure!!

@@EricMerrow The SF300. But maybe it would work by stacking it?
@EricMerrow3 жыл бұрын
@@chromosomegun5845 I’m not sure you’ll be able to approximate an Iommi tone with the super fuzz. Iommi used a treble boost into a stack. What amp are you using? You might be able to use the tube screamer and the boost mode on the super fuzz to boost your amp.

Most guitar stores have them in stock the prices are different in some towns,states ,countries, etc. But still a great pedal to use if you are really into doom metal or if you just wanna jam on some nasty riffs from other genres.

You can do a new video on this pedal every day and I'll watch it. I can't get that sound out of my head. Sweetwater told me that mine should be here in May......but I'm thinking about ordering a second one to have just in case. Random thought: Since there is mode 1.5, is there a mode 2.5? Scooped fuzz with a clean boost added? I would love to try that on my bass.
@EricMerrow3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! So there is a 2.5 mode but it didn’t sound as useable to my ears. In fact, it didn’t sound like it worked when I was filming so I actually cut it out of the video. I tried it again after I had a couple questions and I found it did work but it doesn’t sound as balanced to me. But it does work!
@binface93 жыл бұрын
I agree. But a love the VD400 (DM-3 clone) and the HD300 (MD-2 clone) is surprisingly cool if you scoop away a lot of the bass, I've not tried it on a bass guitar but it might an idea

I value Behringer pedals so highly because they're so cheap and give a lot of bang for the buck. I have had buyer's remorse from more expensive pedals and that's never the case with Behringer!

I have the SF300, the HM300, and the DR600. My favorite is easily the SF300. The DR600 is very useful for me since neither of my amps have native reverb. The HM300 is great, but I recently bought a Boss HM-2 and I find it to be the superior pedal, especially since I don't care about the whole "Swedish Chainsaw" thing. Unless fate drops a fat load of cash into my lap, I'll probably never own a Boss FZ-2.
