And today it's about 4.3 Gaelic Irish and 5.4 million people in total (and that additional 1.1million includes ALL immigrants from Eastern Europeans to North Africans to Asians to English/British) So The indigenous Gaels were almost complete halved over the course of the Famine and even the amount of immigrants is roughly 15% less than what it was 200 years ago!

Hopefully your belt loops can handle the force being put on them! Could always grab a cheap belt from a thrift store! Until you find something you like to buy. I found it's just easier to buy a ratcheting belt system, so can always find the perfect fit with however thick or thin your pants/shorts are. So always have a snug fit between those inch sections on a normal belt!

Except the stitches holding on the belt loops probably aren't sized to hold the actual tension force in the belt. They usually just guide the belt, not act as an anchor point. So expect holes in your pants or torn stitches at the two belt loops where the belt U-turns.

i’m not sure how quickly that would happen. i feel like it would take a while with most pants but idk and if that happens then you can periodically sew or patch up the pants. or people who can afford it can buy pants more often. or maybe just buy cheaper pants it may not be a perfect solution but it may be worth it to try to find a way to make this work for some people if it would be more comfortable for them, as opposed to having the belt go all the way around their waist, constricting their waist even more than the pants already do

It makes sense, the belt is distributing the tension in only two thin loops of fabric instead of the entire circumference of your waist

@@guidoferri8683 if it's around your waist there's no external pressure on the fabric pushing out. Unlike this silly method.

@@bamlett5352because belt loops aren't des8gned for that tension. They're just to keep it from sliding up and down.
