I've had the Fitness Reality for over 14 months now. Working out 5 times a week with heavy weight sets in all positions this bench proves to be sturdy. The quality in most areas of the bench is very good for the price and weight of the bench. Where it fell short was the stitching, padding, and cover. The stitching has since become loose (did not become undone......yet), the padding is still good but is becoming more squishy and worn, the cover (material covering the pad) tore where the two pads meet (the zero gap point) bc this is where the most flex from the pad occurs and the cover is just not that strong. I'm currently looking for a higher quality bench, however, if FR sells replacement pads I may just purchase that, depending on the price. Why? Because the frame is is great and sturdy, I want an FID ladder adjustable bench, I like that it's lightweight, I like the bottom feet come out like they do so I can use my loop bands on them, and the price of similar benches will be about $600-$800.

The Flybird Bench seems like a good decent bench compared to one of those cheaper Marcy/Weider benches. The one main complaint seems to to be the height of the bench. I saw a Reebok flat bench that was also 21 inches tall and that seems a bit too tall for doing bench presses. It also makes the think really wobbly which isn't good.
@MattTolbers3 жыл бұрын

Hey Matt awesome video! Just noticed that you installed the wheels on the wrong side according to the manual. I just received my bench and was wondering if you noticed any issues having the wheels/base installed the way you have it. Seems like moving the bench would be much easier with your method than the one recommended in the manual. I'm considering reattaching it the same way you have to have a "handle" (support plate) to pull the bench. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@MattTolbers3 жыл бұрын
Hey, yeah you're right lol! It doesn't really matter which side you put it on though. It works great for me this way, but if you like to pick it up super high before rolling it, it may be better the way the manual shows because the leg attachment may rub the ground if not. If you don't use the leg attachment on it the way I showed would be easier to move it with.

The leg lock still wobbles even after I screw in the nob. It feels stable using a hand shaking it. But as soon as you start using your leg, you can feel that it wobbles. Is there any way to make it absolutely not wobble? It feels very uncomfortable having your leg wobbles a bit when you are doing crunches.

If you have it tight it shouldn't wobble very much. If it's still bothering you maybe invest in the Rep Fitness AB5000 which will be even more solid.

hey do you have this issue with yours? even with the seat all the way to the front, if i raise the back to 85 degrees, it's still pressing against the back of the seat cushion and making an indent. kind of worried about the longevity of that area . wish it left more of a gap there when the back is all the way up. thought leaving it in the gap position would make no contact.

I am thinking of getting this bench. If you have a moment, I hope you can help me. Did it arrive very well packaged? I'm thinking of getting it through Amazon and I am concerned about them flipping it around and ultimately receiving it looking like crap. I have read several reviews that talk about cheap stitching coming apart, padding not being firm enough, etc. Can you tell me that I will be getting a bench that is well worth the purchase?
@MattTolbers4 жыл бұрын
The bench came packed very well, I’m sure very few of them get damaged. If it happens to be damaged just return it, Amazon is very easy to return. The stitching is pretty good, but not perfect. If some stitching starts coming lose just buy some red thread and stitch it back up, easy fix. You gotta realize to get that nice of a bench for that low of a price you may have to deal with something minor like thread coming lose. I highly recommend this bench over any other under $200. The padding feels great to me.

Thank you so much for such detailed review. Just one question, can the Fitness Reality 2000 be adjusted to do back extension?
@MattTolbers3 жыл бұрын
Possibly, but not something I’d use it for

Were you saying that if you’re 6’1 you could get the flybird?
@MattTolbers3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s actually rated for users up to 6’2”

I just started working out a few months ago and I'm loving it, too bad Mexico city went into full lockdown again (although I understand it). I will be working out at home; the thing is that I cant find a decent bench, all the benches amazon sells in Mexico are crap, and the only fitness reality 2000 I can find is over $1000 USD. Do you have any recomendation? Do I really need a bench? Btw, great vid, very informative.

Not sure what your options are in Mexico, but any bench is better then no bench.

@@MattTolbers I found a fitness reality 1000 for about 250 USD. I guess that will have to do, it seems OK. Anyways, thanks for replying. Happy holidays man.

I'm genuinely curious if you were paid for/given the flybird. Because I had one, and it was awful, wobbly, unstable, etc etc. I *certainly* wouldnt rate it close to being any good. Maybe I just got unlucky and got a broken one?

Flybird 2020 vs Fitness Reality 1000 - Both $200 in Canada which would you buy? Fitness 2000 is $370 with tax :(

I'd go Fitness Reality 1000

Anyone know the length of the Fitness Reality backrest? I'm hoping it's at least 31" since I'm tall. EDIT: Nevermind. My man answered the question at 4:44.

Great review and comparison! Curious what you think of the Fitness Gear Pro Utility Weight Bench from dicks sporting goods? Vs the fitness reality 2000? Obviously no decline on fitness gear, but I'm considering it. Only do decline every so often personally. They're similar price... leaning 2000
@MattTolbers3 жыл бұрын
I'd definitely got with the Fitness Reality 2000 over the Fitness Gear Pro even if you hardly use decline or do ab work you still have the option.

@@MattTolbers grabbed it thx for your great review. The only thing I'd add is the wheels are kinda cheap plastic. Maybe they'd upgrade em in the future
