I own this for 4 years by know , I guess . So, Pros: Works great, keep charge , indestructible, large dial , large strap, but not too large. Now Cons: it’s impossible to set time/date once you don’t have or lost/forget the instruction . Then again , may be it’s just me because where I live there’s no Atomic signal . Hands are easy to read , but all the rest of it , well , not so easy. Glass is , I think , is just a plastic. It gets scratches even from a toothbrush . After tree years of use the black is kinda became grey . I mean everywhere. It’s grey watch now. Illumination works for hands only. As I said, it’s impossible to read small dials at night. But then again, it does the job. Tough solar is great. !

I scored one of these on the bay. Seller stated it didn't work after 2yrs in the drawer. I put it in a sunny window for the weekend, and have been wearing it since. It's not as big. It actually lets my sleeves slip over it. I think this is gonna be my daily. My eyes like the negative displays.

That’s a nice looking watch, but it seems to me like the digital windows are awfully small and with a negative display I think it detracts from the functionality of the watch. I want something that not only has great features but is easy to read.

Then, you are looking for the GAW-100B, it has the same functions than this model but it's bigger and its LED illuminator is brighter. Thanks loads mate, I was just about to order this watch but noticed your comment so quickly googled it and bought the GAW instead, same price, it’s much much better with the light up sub dials as negative windows are almost impossible to read, so thanks absolutely loads for that comment, 👍🏻

Very good thorough reviewvery well explained, if I may suggest perhaps some sort of stand that is preset to show the LCD windows/options so all you would need to do is manipulate the button functions, thank you for sharing, God Bless

Even though that will do 200M water resistant, Casio still states to not operate the buttons under water as it could still leak in. The only models that Casio states that you can operate the buttons under water are the ones labeled DIVER'S WATCH 200M or DIVER'S 200M.

In my opinion G-Shock - GA-2100-1A1ER Carbon Core is even blacker. In addition, I've always wanted to see something like a G-SHOCK Mariana Trench Edition. It would be an impressive design (~11 000 bar water resistance) - excellent for anniversary edition of all times.

Man, I love the looks of this watch but... I’m still having a hard time getting pass the backlight. It is abominable, at least for me it is. I know, for $97 you can’t ask for more, or can you? I paid $14.93 for my Casio F105W-1A Illuminator, and the backlight blows this one out of the water. The other thing is the negative displays, I do own a couple of square G-Shocks with negative display and they are a royal pain in the rear end to read, still like the look though, but that’s it. All in all this is a very good looking watch. I’m still debating if I should add one to the collection.

Bought mine at Amazon but when i press the forward button nothing happens. Everything else works but i can't get the forward button to manually receive the radio signal. Disappointing start... and it turned out it's fake. Just came back from an authorized Casio dealer and was told it's fake. Fake g-shocks on Amazon?... who would've thought?

Had the same thing happen to me as well on Amazon. First with the all black GA100-1A1 all black and then with the black Gg1000 mudmaster. Never would have thought they'd be fakes on Amazon either but live n learn I guess. I was always told if it looks to good to be true it probably is and I got burnt twice haha. Probably depends on either different markets or production date. Casio has moved many models over to the cardboard packaging.

Press and hold the mode button until you see "hand"in the three o clock display release the mode button and the hands move away

Yes, it's made of atoms, just like everything else, not radioactive and not known to give cancer.

It means that it picks up the atomic time signals around the world that it can synchronize the time to. There are 6 stations that it can get. 1 in China, 2 in Japan, 1 in England, 1 in Germany and 1 in the US.
