One of the prettier game tables I've seen. I love how solid it is yet the top has a nice light "float" to it. The magnetic rails are really slick, the leather play surface is classy, and the diffused lights look great. I made my own table and wasn't aware of the diffusers at the time and now want to go back and add them- looks awesome. Great build!!

Congratulations- you’re now one of the best makers on YT with this table, I’m not kidding! Seriously, it’s great and I agree it’s better than any other build. While I personally would have preferred some taper on the legs to pull together the under bevel on the top, it’s a personal preference that does nothing to detract from how badass it is. I really love the led strip, but I’m not sure I can make it work on mine because I’m rabbeting out for a solid surface to go on top, so it can double duty as a dining table. That said now that I’ve seen yours I may have to rethink it to make the LEDs work. They look that great.

Thank you so much! I'm sure the title will be passed along not too far from now, but I cherish it in the moment 😊 I have a gaming room where this table sits exclusively for that purpose so I never had the need for the toppers, however I still had a plan for them. The toppers would work almost like the inverse of how you were describing. The toppers themselves would have notches cut on the underside edges so that they lock into place. They would also be the same size as the table so just like adding another layer on top but could be made out of a thicker material with thinner edges as they almost sit recessed into the table. Not sure if that makes any sense but there's a table sort of like this but without the notches called the phalanx. Check it out!.

Noice! I’m making my own feature list for a possible gaming table build. I’d want outlets and USB charging ports. Regarding the magnetic strips… I want my rails to be strong enough to hold a laptop shelf. Wouldn’t magnetic strips have a limited weight capacity? I’m thinking about using universal T-track instead. Thoughts?
@make_or_dieАй бұрын
Ok so first, the steel is inset into the side of the table. That's important because for heavier items the magnets aren't doing much, the wedge is taking all the load. Think of pulling a middle Jenga block out half way, you'd be surprised how much that can hold especially in the case of a laptop holder that's wedged over a 12 inch span or so. The magnets help get it into position, then the wedge does all the heavy lifting. I'm very confident my table is capable of holding a laptop, but I will admit probably not in the most secure way. Steer away from T-Track. My mind also went there but abandoned it quickly once I realized you have to slide every piece down and out just to slide in a new holder, then reinsert the old one again. No, pulling off and sticking back on. I found this link to be the most helpful though and I think you would too : boardgamegeek.com/thread/1336005/game-table-design-series-game-table-features-rail Scroll down and checkout the "AP Table Wall Mount support". I purchased these and they worked great, but my fellow gamers and I compared the strength of the two, the aesthetics and just the snap of the magnetic rail really swayed us. You might really like that system though. Good Luck!

Board games have become more popular for good reason. Their tables are like $10,000 so that still works out to about 900 tables, seems decently niche still to me but that could just be me.
@FortesqueDaniel4 ай бұрын
You could buy a basic cherry table for ~$1000, now though the price has gone up a lot and it's $2000 for a basic one. If you buy a Wenge table or something ye it's 10 grand, or if you go for their Prophecy line it starts at like $20 grand but mass production made their modular version fairly affordable all things considered. They had 7700 backers for the first kickstarter, 6500 for their second one and 2700 for the latest one (my guess is partly because prices have gone up significantly plus current economic climate isn't super great either). Plus general website sales, though that isn't too high I believe they mentioned. The total money spend on kickstarter is more opaque as you just pledge part of the price and then finalize your table, etc in another tool. In the grand scheme of things, yes it is still niche compared to anything actually mainstream of course but it's not exactly tiny.
