I have a heart murmur. I haven't been able to afford a visit to a cardiologist since I was under my parents insurance. Since I was originally born with 5 of the holes, a tight chest was fairly common growing up. A few breaths and a straight back solved this back then. I'm now 26 and have rather poor posture(fixing it slowly but surely), which seems to be exasperating the issue. When I inhale, I can feel the two rear-most portions of my ribcage stop short of where I feel like they should stretch, and a similar tightness is felt in front of my sternum. Eventually these symptoms are ignored as I become aware of two lines of stiffness running from just behind either ear to the back of my neck, level with my Adam's Apple, and nasal congestion. Slowly cracking my neck brings immediate relief to the new symptoms but as the frequency of the process increases, the relief decreases and I'll eventually be unable to find relief for hours. I was hoping you had some specific stretches that you could suggest I do on a daily basis to solve this issue. I'm not asthmatic, nor diabetic. I just want to breathe easier.

7:13 is there an alternate for someone with knees that are very sore. I don’t know what’s happened to me since long Covid but I can’t do this pose anymore - my kneecaps literally feels so much pressure like they’re going to pop off. And I was hardly bending, wondering if there is a variation or if something else I could try instead and if you read this thank you I’ve been watching your videos for years and have been enjoying your channel and love sharing it with others

You're welcome, and thanks. I do have modification videos of general knee exercises, as well as exercises seated in a chair that might be more doable. You can find all my videos on my channel: kzbin.info, and you can use the search tool (the magnifying glass) under the banner on the right side to find specific videos/topics.

Thanks! These are all pretty doable for me except the lunge due to some scar tissue around the ball of my foot. Does the lunge work any different muscles than the squat?
@AskDoctorJoАй бұрын
You're welcome! Yes, it uses some different muscles.

Many of your videos say 8 yrs ago 6 yrs ago etc. I would like a reply! regarding a knee injury buying knee sleeves. Can I do excercise on your video without using knee sleeves. Just do the excercise rolling up a towel. I have a torn miniscus from years ago. thanks for your reply! This is from video best knee strenthening excercises
@AskDoctorJoАй бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't know that answer since I can't evaluate you. Everyone is different, but in general, exercises can be done without knee sleeves if that is what you are asking.

Is it okay for the knee to touch the floor when doing lunges? I actually find them easier to do when my knee touches the floor, that is, rising is easier from that position. Is that bad? Easier to do? I think it's about having leverage helping me rise, which may not be optimal?
