Black k folks seem to claim they created everything welp being fro, the area this song was actually created living by the people that created it it's a lie. Bluegrass was seen as white folk music and black folks hated bluegrass because of it. Therefore they sought a different style out of spite. This music is thousand of years older than the lie your m perpetrating.

I think, right at the end of the video, Wynton says to Mark as they bend down, in a very respectful way about Bluegrass and Jazz (forgive the language) "It's all the same shit." And they laughed. It's all the same country, the people. Except the pigments and accents (languages) are just a bit different.

@mistercarlberg

How he would fare? He could step into just about anything and blow minds wide open and aside from the obvious decibel discrepancy he'd drop into any bluegrass circle and kill. He's a living smithsonian collection. Ethnomusicologist who can bring his own to all of it. Like Yo Yo Ma and the silk road project, when you play at THAT level it transcends far and wide.

This ain't country music my friend. It's bluegrass, and it's also one of the most ancient traditional tunes in bluegrass, which is most likely African American in origin. America at its best.
@brianpatterson7332
@brianpatterson7332 Жыл бұрын
@@banjo2019 Bluegrass musicians have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Mark O'Connor's fiddle style is Texas swing rather than bluegrass. He himself will tell you that the earliest official recording by a country musician was Texas fiddler Eck Robertson's version of Sally Goodin. Also, the famous white fiddle he played in most of his competition wins now hangs in the Country Hall Of Fame. Bluegrass is a relatively recent phenomenon developed in the 1940's - so you can't really have an ancient bluegrass tune, though you can have a bluegrass interpretation of an old time tune.

@@banjo2019if you’re gonna argue it’s not country, it’s silly to argue it’s bluegrass. Old-time would probably be the best classification if we want to talk about “origins” but just calling it folk music would also do

I think this is brilliant! People are attending a Jazz Festival and they are treated to just about the most basic fiddle tune there is - one that every beginning fiddler learns in their first lessons - with only three chords in it - and the crowd goes absolutely nuts! They love it! Music is indeed a universal language. Fiddle rules.

The hillbilly music has it's origins in the British Isles. It was influenced heavily by African slaves and Native North American Indians. Think of River Dance, upright. Think of African and North American Indian dance; downbeat. Great result. "Scholars have often seen the fiddle as something imposed upon blacks in 18th-century America by slave owners who wanted to enjoy European-style entertainment. What routinely gets left out of the story is that Africa had its own fiddling tradition every bit as old and rich as Europe's, dating from roughly the 12th century in Senegal. It moved eastward across the continent with Fulbe migrants."

Record keeping at the time makes it difficult to prove a concept. For instance, according to Louise Scruggs, the banjo is a descendant of an instrument called the "Rebec. This instrument was developed in Arabia and spread with the growth of Islam into Africa. The fiddle, however, has extensive African history.
