The Karakurt is made in the U.S. by Hogue and comes with a very sharp factory edge, which you would expect from Hogue. It doesn't have the aggressive or fun look of the Kalashnikov. It is understated and is an excellent knife with premium 154CM steel.

The strike has a 2nd lock because the deploy button is raised above the grip, you can sit on it and it will deploy if you don't lock it. Where as the Kalashnikov button is more reccessed.

I have had the strike in desert warrior for over a year now. The only issue I have is that it seems to be getting spots of rust on the blade. I wipe it with oil once every week or two. I'm sure sweating like crazy from the Arizona heat doesn't help much. It has been a great reliable knife. The action is smooth and the blade keeps its sharpness pretty well. I'm satisfied with my purchase and am looking to get another strike. I would love to see one with a desert warrior blade with coyote or flat dark earth scales.

I would really want Böker to release an improved version of the Kihon. I had it for about 6 months, the spring broke. I feel like this and the whole washer issues could've been avoided with a slightly different action, inspired by the Kwaiken. Otherwise a great knife. Love the form factor and style.

The strength of the kalashnikov is no joke. Mine saved my leg from a chainsaw and still kept going. Spring just broke the other day and it needs a donor blade but it is definitely getting it.

It's hard to keep the Karakurt out of my pocket. Amazing ergos, fires like a rocket, and the price point is amazing for the quality. Can't recommend this knife enough, try it out if you have the money.

About the safety switch at the Strike. I have a full size Kalashnikov with the Spearpoint/Dagger blade in D2 (Blackout btw) aaaaand it has a safety switch on the top.

I bet it would sell very well in a clip point to, with the current trend towards smaller and lighter there's guys like me with xl hands that are getting left out. I don't mind shorter blades but I definitely need a full size handle

Wouldn't be a knife video without an injured thumb. oddly my recent injury was from a boker lundquist. It has a major design flaw that allows the blade to come out slightly while remaining locked. Then its a tip up design so reaching into your pocket is a gamble. Just yesterday I gave myself a very nasty wound in my right thumb because of this. I probably should have gone and got a couple of stitches but its on the pad of my thumb so I just super glued it. But now I know that this blade needs some reprofiling before I want to carry it again.

So my every day carry right now is a murdered out Kihon. You still will never find a sub $50 automatic knife better than this. I’m used to it over the years and have mastered carrying a right handed automatic knife as a left-handed person. Opening the knife using my index finger instead of my thumb has pretty much become second nature. The reasoning behind that rant you ask… If you guys sell enough to where it’s worth it, it would be so awesome to get it in a lefty. Also, if you need someone to field test it… word. Man I love the kihon especially with that copper colored blade but I can't bring myself to buy a knife made in China.bummed me out when I looked at the kihon on website and saw country of origin was China and not Germany.if it was made it Germany I'd be all over the kihon for this price.lol.I try buying blades made here in the states but having italian blood in me I also love a lot of the Italian made viper and lionsteel knifes.recently just bought the viper vox katla with carbon fiber scales from Blade hq and it's absolutely awesome.only problem with the katla is that it's soo nice looking you almost don't want to use it for anything.the m360 steel blade looks awesome as well being that its kind of a cross between a drop point and a tanto.just a all around super looking knife that has a more gentleman look to it.certainly recommend blade hq though.great service,process orders extremely fast and shipping is awesome.

Scam artists!!! Literally all of these knives are 75% marked up at this point in time!!! I work in the steel industry and I can tell you that the price of steel hasn't gone up that much. I've bought 9 boker knives from Blade HQ pre-2019 and bought 6 this past black Friday ($35 each for an AK mini) guarantee I won't buy another at these prices.

Man ohhhhh man, if that Karakurt had a 3.5” blade I’d be all over it, but a 3” blade kills it for me. 3.5” is the PERFECT length for an EDC pocket knife in my opinion.
