I don’t own a knife but I’ve been watching all these vids for the last 9 or so months because I saw the strong arm in person. Still haven’t brought myself to purchase one but if it’s nice to see it’s at least functional in others’ opinions.

These shops should seriously do these videos like every day up until Christmas and keep showcasing new stuff. Maybe it’s too much work, but if they did one of these every day or every couple of days, eventually people are gonna see something they can’t resist and they’re gonna buy it.Or they could do 12 days in a row like the Twelve Days of Christmas.

For the sub $100 knives I can recommend the Real Steel Pathfinder Folder enough. I got the micarta and scandi grind version, 3.9” 14c blade, with an excellent crossbar lock and extremely comfortable micarta scales. They also offer full flat grinds and g-10 scales. It makes an excellent hard use knife or as an outdoor backup knife to your fixed blade. I did put a convex edge on it for better edge strength, since then I’ve battoned lots of smaller pieces, and with a lanyard on it, it chops surprisingly well. Of course I’ll use my fixed blade but it’s nice to know it can do it. It makes a hell of a carving knife, food prep, typical edc tasks are also a breeze with it. The zero scandi blade came scary sharp out of the box, and even with my convex micro bevel it still slices and cuts amazingly.

Holy balls the Para 3 got stupid expensive. I paid like $110 for the regular version. The lightweight was around $90. Same with the Bugout. They were great at that $110-120, but near enough $200 is super hard to justify. I didnt even pay that for a Para 2 Tanto....

Instead of the strong arm, their new bushcraft version is a much better overall blade. The handle is more comfortable too, if you’ve ever had to use the strong arm for any amount of time will tell you it is a blister making machine.

I've been using one of those Kershaw OTFs at work now for +/- a month, Started off w/ flawless performance, but after a couple weeks I experienced my first failure to deploy. I was able to wrist whip the blade into battery, but I've been noticing similar failures to deploy more often now. I realize these aren't the prciest OTFs on the market atm, but failure to deplay after a couple of week's use is a problem. As such, I don't think I'll be going back to a Kershaw OTF any time soon.

Just moved into a new home. Unfortunately the movers we used had sticky fingers and stole my Yojimbo 2. (Last year’s Christmas gift). “I don’t know anything about knife laws” To be honest if you’re working at a company that markets and sells knives, shouldn’t it be part of the training to know or have at the very least some knowledge of knife laws in/around the U.S. and its territories for customers who inquire if they can purchase for themselves or loved ones et al over the phone or by email?
@davidgarrett567117 күн бұрын
I doubt any knife seller knows all the knives in every jurisdiction but there are other people who work there that have that responsibility. It isn’t George’s job.
@BladeHQ16 күн бұрын
I know a fair bit about knife laws, and have both made videos and written about it before. I'll drop links to my article on BladeHQ.com as well as the video we made with KnifeRights founder Doug Ritter below. I mostly said "I don't know anything about knife laws" to absolve myself and the company of liability. Knife laws are extremely complicated, and neither I nor anyone at Blade HQ is a lawyer. It would be illegal and irresponsible to give any form of legal advice. When it comes to our shipping practices with regulated knives, we seek qualified legal counsel for the jurisdictions to which we ship knives. But ultimately, understanding and following knife laws is an individual responsibility, and nothing I can say is universally good advice about knife laws other than "make sure you follow the law." And so, in an effort to make the Holiday Gift Guide video not turn into another knife laws video, I just said "I know nothing about knife laws" as a way to tell people that if they have more questions about knife laws, seek answers from a lawyer. But if you have questions about knife steel, brands, designers, mechanisms, etc., then Blade HQ's team of knife experts is here to help you any time! Thanks for watching the video, and happy holidays! -George www.bladehq.com/blog/are-switchblade-knives-illegal kzbin.info/www/bejne/omLKeKqNi7Fkn6M
