No it's not a big problem. But for entrances after class 12 you have to do maths yourself as maths and quant comes in college entrances. You can search on it more on youtube.

If your school provides you applied maths and your school teacher will teach you applied maths then definitely go for it otherwise go for core maths. I shifted from Applied to core due to lack of teacher in my school.
