Best Budget 1/10 Basher? MAVERICK PHANTOM XT review and Durability test!

Could this cheap (£109) 1/10 hobby grade 4wd RC truck be any good? The new maverick phantom XT!
This truck doesn't belong to me, its actually my friend's car. This is his first 1/10 rc car. We only used the included 1800mah NiMH battery which gave us around 25 mins of run time. This car can run LiPo, so we will test it in the future.
This car was an absolute blast! Even with its low power battery, it provided a lot of fun and messing around with it on the jumps was also great. I would recommend this to a beginner. NOTHING broke, just the driveshafts fell out. With a little modification to stop them sliding around it would be perfect.

its a pretty good looking car. I had one but it will last only if u use same power setup that comes with the car. once you try to upgrade into a lipo or a brushless setup thats the end. screws easily can be pulled out from their holes and chassis material isnt very durable. overall. I would rather save some more then buy a better product like JLB cheetah or one from arma 3s linup.

Exact same shaft fell out on mine!!! Any tips, I know you can buy the aluminium upgrade knuckles

Maybe putting a small o ring or something to act as a spacer inside the drive cups would stop the shaft falling out. (We will be trying this in a future video and also getting upgrades)

MAVERICK PHANTOM vs TRAXXAS - LaTrax Teton which one is better ?

Maverick is bigger and faster. Latrax is probably better quality. I’d choose the maverick if you want speed and performance. But the Latrax should be longer lasting and more durable. Hope this helps!

Yeah, i would say it’s good and has some decent speed if you put in a LiPo battery. The only downside was that the front driveshafts fell out

I don’t think this car is for sale in the US. There might be similar ones with a different branding but I don’t know for sure.

I broke 3 wheels in 2 days just driving in a car park with small potholes! Shafts fall out every 5 mins. I've given up on mine and bought a traxxas maxx!

Only problem we had was the shafts. We never had problems with the wheels.

I hit a curb , broke a steering knuckle and shaped the chassis. Five mins out of the box.
