Just completed my second long ride on my Meepo board. I'm 200 lbs and just did a 5 mile ride at an average speed of 15 miles an hour. The batteries show 50% so I'm thinking 8 mile as advertised shouldn't be an issue. The hub wheels are warm but not hot. At one point I got it up to 21 mph, but that's scary.
@evaninfante95655 жыл бұрын
When the battery runs out can you put it in neutral and ride it like a regular board?
@lordliquiir40927 жыл бұрын
Wait so you would have to replace the motors after how long tho ?
@GamerGuy1O17 жыл бұрын
Hey man, that was a really thorough review! Any chance for you to do a Backfire 2 review? These are the two boards I'm looking at, and the reason why I haven't bought the meepo is because of the fact that you have to change the motors when the urethane wears out on the meepo, but not on the backfire.
@rafaellaureano28877 жыл бұрын
Yo man its fairly easy to change the wheels honestly and fairly cheap as well in the long run i think meepo is where its at especially for the price
@GamerGuy1O17 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've seen videos on how to change the motors on the meepo, it's just that they cost 30 something usd but PLUS shipping for those too. That's why I was wondering if the Backfire 2 is better, since it technically is better on paper. Hence the question whether you're going to review the board. But thanks for the quick answer!
@VirtuallyChris7 жыл бұрын
I'd love to get my hands on that board to test out. I'll see what I can do!

Danny M is the backfire 2 only available from AliExpress? Because I'm struggling to find where to buy it from
@RaySolus7 жыл бұрын
Aman the backfire 2 from AliExpress are prototypes not the official boards as they just started productions and won't be shipped until September. Here's the official website: backfireboards.com/index.html I would wait because they are gonna try to do another kickstarter run on indegogo and it will be a $100 cheaper with more stuff.

Hey Chris thank you for the honest review! Really appreciated the quality content. Even though you think this is the best budget board, this video encouraged me to save more money for a quality board. It seemed like this board makes A LOT of noises (the beeping), which I dislike big time. I'm probably saving up for the new Evolve bamboo GTX(one of the fewer brands which deliver to germany). Whats your opinion about the GTX? The range seems to be ridiculous (30miles/50km)! Greetings from Germany! :-)
@Mikenopolis7 жыл бұрын
All Evolve board have one big issue, their battery technology. They cannot last a long hill ride due to voltage sag. So as long as you don't have too much hills to climb you should be fine. Look into Carvon EXO and Enertion Raptor 2

Hi, thanks for the review, I somehow stumbled onto videos on electric skateboards on YT and now I want one haha. I was surprised when i saw they were $1,500+ though! This one seems more in my budget and I would be a lot less broken up if it got stolen at work! Does this budget board have regenerative braking or is that why the more expensive boards are so much more money? :-).

“Leaves a bit of battery for the brakes” 😂 ya you don’t quite understand how your brakes work do you?
@VirtuallyChris7 жыл бұрын
They are electrically actuated breaks, so if there's no battery in the board there won't be a connection with the remote, thus it can't break.
@kaden567 жыл бұрын
VirtuallyChris yes that’s is true if there is absolutely zero battery to where the board dies then it can’t connect to the remote. In the video it just seemed like you were implying that braking uses battery power.
