I picked one of those a couple years ago and several days of rain and slinging mud I was definitely impressed. Now I keep my big first aid kit in the smaller version. Like the bright orange for that. Definitely durable and water tight. Can't beat the price as well as color options.

On your long guns, try turning your rifles over so the scopes fit in the center. It will help protect your scopes from the guys at the airports when they throw your case across the loading dock. I can get a 30-378 Wby and a 338-378 Wby in mine both sporting a Swarovski 5 x 25 x 52 scope and they don't touch.

Great tip on the gun case. I looked it up on harbor freight, $169.00. I need 3 of them. BTW, one of my pistol cases is a flamebeau and appears to be exactly like your pistol case is - different name - but same same case. Good to know we are on the same track. My pistol case holds my S&W 686+, it came with the case after some horse tradin'.

I’ve got one of the Apache hard cases I use for my really nice RC vehicle radio. For the price, they’re 95% of what a pelican case is (I have both brands) and will absolutely recommend the Apaches for most uses!

I think it's about time I getz myself a couple of them Apache gun cases. I remember watching a guy here on YT and he submerged one in a 55 gallon drum of water with one of his pistols in it but I forget how long maybe a couple of days but when he pulled it out and opened it up it was dry as dirt. My Son has a couple of these and I am pretty impressed with them. I don't own any because I have quite a few of that "Other" brand, along with a couple of Plano cases. Like WTW says, the Planos are a lot thinner material than these or the other ones. The pick and pull foam can be replaced from online sources. My Barrett came in a case that has a solid insert, which I don't like at all. So I'm gonna replace the insert with foam.

Noticed you had the bottom gun upside down in the case. Guns do shift around in the cases. When the case is sitting handle up on its edge, the weight of the gun will be supported on the top scope turret. I always place the gun in the case with the scope toward the handle. So when its stored riding on its edge, the rifle is setting up right instead of upside down.

Redfield (Academy) / Apache (Harbor Frieght) are china’s copies of the Pelican case. Vault is actually a secondary company of Pelican. If I had the choice I would either get Vault or Chinese clone or a used case.

Quick release scope bases might save you money in the long run. Might be able to use one scope on multiple rifles. Most decent scopes and bases hole a good zero After being removed.

Love the Harbor Freight poor man cases and have been wanting to get a couple rifle and pistol cases myself but I haven’t been able to afford to do so. Would have loved to get them when they had that half off sale a week or so ago but once again, I didn’t have the cash. :/ And Hoot, you should have asked for some money off of that rifle case for it being scratched. Which I’ll go ahead and say happened when an employee cut the main carton for them open.

Killer!... I have the same tan one I use for my night vision clip on. It holds the optic, adaptors, extra batteries, a charger, and tools for adjustments. Killer box and for the price there is nothing better. Tighten down the air locks and she floats nicely.
