I tried to find one but none were available anywhere. I discovered the Onewind 11’ x 64” wide hammock with integrated bug net for around $70. I replaced the buckle suspension with woopie slings and added a sleaker adjustable ridge line. So far it has been fantastic.

I was so happy when I watched your video and later saw that this is the same hammock I bought on Amazon a few months earlier! I’m brand new to hammock camping and was waiting for Spring to try it out. I slept in it the first time last night (first night in any hammock) and it was great! I’m so happy I made a good choice being a total newb and knowing nothing. I may try your modifications later when I’m more experienced and confident.

Just got my hammock yesterday. One thing that I did to get the same use as a double ended stuff sack was modify the bag it comes with. I removed the bag from the hammock. In the corner of that bag I opened the stitching about 1/2 of an inch. I sewed in a little stich at the end of the opening to stop it from continuing to open. This allows me to put the continuous loop through the little hole just like a double ended stuff sack.

Hey, I just checked the ridge outdoor gear web site and they now have incorporated some of the upgrades you did. Stuff-sack - open-ended and no longer sewn to the hammock. Ridgeline - dyneema equivalent UHMWPE 2mm diameter, 110 inches long. 570 lbs strength rating. Cool that they are adapting and the price is still $50.

I just bought one based on this video and ordered the parts. I currently have a WBRR, and just do not like have to mess with the poles on it and how close the mesh is to my face. When I set up the Pinnacles in my backyard, at first I thought something was wrong. The bottom of the fabris was down to my knees before I got in. After I got in, it was about half an inch above the ground. I then remembered I needed to hang a regular hammock higher than my bridge hammock. I will be testing the Pinnacles out on the Cross Timbers trail in a week or two.

I changed the continuous loops and ridge line out on mine with amsteel ones. I haven't changed the stuff sack yet. What I did differently is I put on a better ridge line organizer. I also used the mesh bag that the Sawyer filter and squeeze bags came in and swapped it for the peak bag. It worked great since there is a little loop on the bottom of the mesh bag and gives me way more space for storage.

I did the same mods (except stuff sack) before even hanging mine up. The bonus was they came from my old hammock so cost was $0 and put the other stuff on the other hammock to keep it usable for the kids. @@SpiguyverBackpacking1 thanks fo a great video. Just changing out the continuous loops makes a world of difference in my opinion. I did that on my cheapy first hammock when i got a cinch buckle suspension. I actually did 1 15 and 1 8 inch CL. The length and width which I have compared to snug pack dd hammocks, Hennessey hammocks. Enough is frigin only nine feet long! Some of the others only ten! This beats the pants off the walmart hammock, eno, and the dimensions better than even these so called "special forces" snugpack! New hammock campers don't always think of that and get a hammock that's too small. Anyways I can't say anything wrong with this hammock I'm very happy to have it

Enjoyed many of your videos on all the various hammocks. At 6’4”@ 190 I’m concerned that this hammock may not be wide enough for me or is that not necessarily true? I see that Dutchware has a 12 ft @ 68” wide as well as Arrowhead Equipment and thinking I should maybe go that route. I know that Dream Hammocks can custom make a longer and wider one. Although, I do wonder how wide is really to wide cause than you have extra wasted fabric. I think the Shelltowee bugnet looks the best as far as keeping it off one’s face in the video that you made. So many choices and for someone who only goes out backpacking about 6 times a year have a hard time thinking about splurging for a Chameleon or Darien. On the flip side rather have something I’d really like and have no desire to have to upgrade. To many decisions. Help please 🙏. Currently own a 110”x 59” Hammock and a Amok Draumr XL.

I know quite a few people that are similar height to you that love an 11' hammock. I can get away with a 10.5' pretty easily, and actually kinda prefer it. I knew Dutch was starting to do some 12', and I have a tall friend who has a 12 footer that he had made a couple years ago and he loves it. If I was that tall I would probably give a longer hammock a try. 11' hammocks are pretty common and a lot of tall people are just fine in them. It's a tough choice, but I think you'd be happier with the extra length!
@MrBalas34 жыл бұрын
Spiguyver Backpacking Thanks for the prompt reply. Is 68” generally considered wide enough? I noticed on Dream Hammocks they suggested 72-74” for my height, but I tried my friends’ Eno double and at 74” wide seemed like a bit of loose fabric. Knotty mods that are offered on Dutch’s 12 footer creating kind of a foot box does that keep ones leg from sliding down the the hammock and keep one in the diagonal? Also, I tend to toss and turn at night and mainly side sleep would a symmetrical hammock make more sense? Appreciate your input

Thank you for great informational video! 🥰I do have a silly question. What do they mean by designated head and foot end on a hammock? Have heard references, but don't fully understand significance. 🤔
@SpiguyverBackpacking14 жыл бұрын
Sure, depending on how you have it built, where you place specific features, and even how you have the zippers installed, on some hammocks, because you lay in them diagonally, there is a dedicated head and foot end. Additionally, people generally find the foot end being hung a little higher is more comfortable, so if you have a way of telling which is which when you're setting it up, you can figure out how you want it oriented and hung.

I bought this hammock on your (and others) recommendation. My reasoning is, if your going to spend your money on something and not skimp, do it on quilts! They're so expensive, there's not really a good way to go cheap on them, and they're so necessary that you really don't want to. So, if you have to make an investment to get started, buy the cheaper hammock, and get the good quilts.
