I own 2 models of Daiwa Revros LTs. I have a 2500 & just bought a 3000 last week. I agree with everything you said about them. They are absolutely built to be tough & get the job done. I own other Daiwa products and had some for decades. I use the Daiwa Whiskers 1300SS for over 25 yrs. Got both models of reels mounted to Daiwa Laguna spinning rods. They work phenomenally well together. I spool them all with 20# braided line and I use 20ft leaders of Sunline Sniper fluorocarbon in 8# . The Revros 3000LT has a 22# drag system. That's plenty for the fish I catch. Thank you for sharing this video. Great review

I picked up a revros a couple years ago. It continues to blow my mind how good it is. Only issue was having to shim the spool for proper line lay. After setup shes as good as any of my other reels. And my " expensive " reel lists at $500. Cheers

I just bought one after seeing this review. I bought it for my St. Croix Mojo Ice 36" medium power rod. I had a Pflueger Monarch on this rod for the last 2 seasons and it just didn't feel right. After fishing yesterday and hooking up with a fair size pike I was surprised how much easier it was to "fight" the fish. The heavier weight of the Revros LT 3000C actually made the set up feel more robust. Even the drag felt so much smoother. Given that the Pflueger is also a budget reel I'm happier with the Daiwa's performance. I may just swap it onto my trout rod for open water...

Funny you mention that about Pflueger. I used to use one myself and now won't because of the drag system on the Daiwa reels. They're known for having excellent drag systems, even on the cheaper models. Good stuff!

I’m buying the lt1000 for my 5’6” UL (fishing13 defy) and the lt2000 for my 6’ UL (TFO trout/panfish). They weigh nearly the same but the lt2000 has a bigger spool. Thanks for your review.

You're welcome. I like the idea of the 2000 since the spool is bigger. I hope it balances well with the 6' UL rod. I use the 1000 with my 6 ft. light (not UL) and that balances well.

I have this 1000 reel spooled with about 120yrds 8# braid. Paired with 8ft UL American spirit rod. Very great setup for bank fishing.

Got revros lt version on 2500 and 3000 capacities, but the line capacity is so low comparing to the others Daiwa models, and wind knots will be generated occasionally with the braid. The line lies a little bit near top, maybe need to add washers. Otherwise, i did catch fishes with them.
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman 3 жыл бұрын
Yep, exactly! The line capacity isn't good on these...definitely a downside.

I am looking for a reel for a 6' 6' light ugly stik. I am planing on using it for trout lure such as roster tails and spoons what size reel would u recommend?
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman 3 жыл бұрын
The size 1000 is PERFECT for that setup. I use mine on a 6'6" light action st croix trout series rod, with 4lb mono and it works really well. This past weekend I must have caught 20-30 trout with that rig, using panther martin spinners.

@@RelentlessSportsman I agree. A 1000. For trout while casting Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. Great spinner baits.

i bought the revros 4000 and it is smooth smooth smooth. i own two BG's, a 3000 and 3500 and they are great solid quality reels but that revros is like butter. i can't believe i only paid 54 bucks. will it hold up to salt? i don't know yet. it does have a plastic frame and i did experience some flexing when i caught larger blues and bass with it. one other thing, it does run on the small side for a 4000 size reel. i sort of wish i bought the 5000 if they make it but i have too many reels already.

Hard to say if it will do well with salt water. Years ago when I fished in the ocean, I rinsed by reels after each fishing trip, which helped.

how much 2lb test or 0.07mm diameter line could you get on to the 1000 size spool? Can you make an informed and accurate approximation?

I’m looking to get this for drop shorting, crappie, and trout. You think the 2500 is the correct one because of the lack of line capacity?

@RelentlessSportsman

@@andreaa3793 Ok, so for those fish, I would go with powerpro braid - 10-12 lb with 2 lb diameter with a fluorocarbon leader. Trout get picky so the braid is a great main line. For bass, in my personal experience, I haven't needed to use a leader so I would use the same 10-12 lb braid.

How will it handle salt water use?
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I no longer fish in salt water so I can't give you a complete answer. When I did fish in the ocean, I used other reels that were of similar value. That being said, I needed to rinse them out in the kitchen sink after each use. They lasted many years, as long as I remembered to rinse them out.
