as much as bsd is my favorite series and special interest, i wish it was still underrated right now. it gained so much popularity in such a short time and the majority of the fandom are not adults, they lack a lot of experience needed to understand the nuances of the series. that said, finding fans who don't mischaracterise and don't argue about things just because they aren't explicitly stated in the show has now become a treat.

I know this seems strange coming from a stranger but I think Chuuya’s ability “upon the tainted sorrow” got something to do with depression. You see when people are sad or depressed, they usually don't want to move some also say that they can't move as if gravity has just multiple making the subject feel heavy, and on the other note when we're happy and having the time of our lives we feel light as if gravity has decreased. The corruption part is actually pretty simple, have you ever heard the saying that “Negativity is a monster” I’m guessing it's something like that because he uses his powers too much he will die, just like people who are surrounded by negative energy guess what happened to them... They killed themselves, so it's like if Chuuya does not have Dasai as some sort of outlet he would die.

A bit late but people often overlook Rimbaud. His ability is quite op he has his own pocket dimension and when inside he basically becomes invincible could also bring a corpse in to control. it just bad luck that his enemies are chuuya and dazai

One very overlooked ability is Another from Ayatsuji Yukito(based on the novel that spawned the anime and manga) he's the protagonist of the BSD Gaiden manga and novel, He's a genius detective ,if he finds a person guilty of murder or attempted murder Another activates and the culprit, no matter where they are, how powerful they are, or even if they're human or not, dies in a horrible accident it can range from a car crash, to accidentally killing themselves with their own ability or even being blown up by a nuke, not even Ayatsuji can stop Another after a verdict.

I think you should’ve included Shibusawas, because he can unleash his fog and turn peoples abilities against them, and unless the person defeats their ability, they die and their abilities get sent to shibusawa himself. You should’ve included Ace too because whoever wears a collar he gives to his subordinates, he can snap his fingers or smt and it turns their lives into gems which he keeps for himself

Not only was Fyodor's ability dangerous, his mind is also dangerous. Perfect Memory, Analytical skill, deduction, Persuasiveness, tactical. Basically the entirety of s3, ADA and Port Mafia were playing 4d chess against HIM. It took the help of Fitzgerald to find him and bring him down. In my opinion, the scariest Foe at least until s4 (Haven't seen s4 or s5)

Def Akutagawa Ryunosuke bc even Mori Ougai once hinted that aside from Chuuya akutagawa could be one of the best ability users he has ever known; And there was a reason he was made leader of the the black lizard the port mafia's elite strike force. Still against Dazai even Akutagawa is a 0/1 since by simply having contact with Rashoumon Dazai's ability is on action So it is worth picking Akutagawa Ryunosuke as a favorite 😍

Actually "The Great old ones" can't be negated because of the form but like Dazai stated he just isn't using an ability. Lovecraft is meant to be some kind of eldritch being, not an ability user. We know the supernatural exists beyond ability users in this world (see the war on werewolves or Arahabaki).
