Due to -19 degree temps in South Dakota (-47 with windchill), both of my older car batteries were dead when i went to start them. After getting a jump from someone, i immediately went to harbor freight to get a jump pack. Out of all the sub 100$ jump packs i could find, this had the best user ratings. They were definitely right, this thing is a beast. After the initial charge, i was able to jump the second car. Drove that one around attempting to charge it just to find out when i got home that the battery finally bit the dust. So i jumped it a second time, went to the store for a battery. Jumped it a 3rd time at the store (still dead as a doornail), and got home. All on one charge of the battery pack. It only brought the device down to 75%. 3 EXTREMELY DEAD, subzero colds starts. Without this thing, i could have been stranded. I am sold on its performance, and feel confident in starting my cars in the most extreme conditions. I've been in situations like this in the past, I'm shocked i didn't buy one sooner. 80 dollars on sale is cheap insurance 🙏 I love how the pack charges with USB C, I'm glad the power indicators are clear and easy to read, and the internal flash light/phone charge ports are a nice touch!

Yeah, for the price it's not a bad idea to just have one in each vehicle. I bought this for my skid steer, but it's currently sitting in my truck since that's what I take for camping trips. Wouldn't want to be stranded. Thanks for watching!

Great video. These power packs are incredible. When I see individuals using jumper cables. That’s so 1985.

Great product for sure. I posted a video very similar to this back in December! These things are awesome. I had a lot of people comment having problems with them on my video. My jump box is used frequently and it’s just as amazing as it was day one!

Bought one today. Used it on the ole kia work car and it's cold outside. It fired the kia right up no problem. Thanks for doing the video cause when I'm looking for something I always go to you tube for a user experience as a review and I watched yours.👍

Ive added electric start kits to all my stationary engines. Log splitter, chipper shredder and generator. I don't add the little lead acid batteries. I install the same cable end as on the jump start and just use the jump starter to start the engines. Works great and I don't have to keep replacing those expensive little batteries.
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
That sounds nice I need to look into doing that. Thanks for watching
@CavanalK5 Жыл бұрын
Nice. I may have to do that for some of my engine items. Never even thought about that before. Sounds like a definite money saver. Especially if you have items that don’t get regular use…

Can it plug into the obd port to retain memory while switching to a new battery?
@DaddyBeanDaddyBean Жыл бұрын
It might just be a trick of frame rates and so forth, but your alternator belt looks pretty loose when the engine is running, slapping around a little just under idle - it might be slipping a bit. Might want to check that just to make sure.
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
Definitely need to replace the belt. It's in bad shape. But I did cut out in-between holding glow plugs so there wasn't long pauses in the video. Thanks for watching!

Looks good How long will it hold charged unused in cash? Will it work for a golf cart? Do they offer longer charge cables as supplied one looks very short?
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
Not sure how long it will stay charged but it says last 30 jump starts. Not sure if they offer longer cables but yes the supplied ones are short but it works good for just sitting it on top of battery to jump it.

The manual says not to connect the negative to the battery terminal and instead to the chassis. Is there any particular reason why?
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
From what I'm told, the battery produces hydrogen gas when jumping it and can cause an explosion if it encounters a spark from the leads of the the jumper cable.
@postessvir9780 Жыл бұрын
In the manual Its says to connect the negative on chasis ,is this what you did ,or you connected negative to the battery terminal ? Thanks
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
I did on negative side of battery. But to be correct the ground on chasis would be right. Just has to do with throwing sparks when starting. Safer on chasis

Just bought the Viking 2000 Amp Jumper for $69, due to it being stocked in the wrong location. It goes for $129.99. Just cranked a V8 diesel with both batteries dead. This little thing is a beast.

Question, I just bought this today and the manual says to fully charge immediately after purchase. I plugged it in to charge and no lights are turning on. Wondering what your experience was with this? Might the one I got be defective?
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure mine did that too. I just left it on charge and eventually it started showing me the charge
@DNA8111 ай бұрын
I have noticed that if you leave it in a cold car, it could be dead when you need it. So you might want to check the charge once a week.

I noticed you trimmed the video a bit between start attempts. I’m sure it was to keep us from watching useless parts of the process. But I did have a question. Between a failed start attempt (not enough juice) and the next attempt, do you have to hit any buttons on the device? We have a couple Halo brand ones. They’ve been great, but they require that after a failed start that you have to get out, and go push the Jump button again to boost before you can try to turn the key again. Makes for a pain in the winter when you’re slipping all over on ice or in the summer when you’re mowing and weedeating and trying to move occasional-use vehicles around. Never fails when you’re good and ticked off is when you have to drag out the jump box lol. Thanks for the video!
@WhatTheHeckMan Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. Short answer is yes but only if it trips out on an over current protection of the jump box. On a gas engine it's a bit easier to start so not sure if you would have the issue but if you're using on diesel and it's a cold start then it tends to get it quite hot. To reset, I just took the positive lead off and then put it back on. Hope this answered the question!
