Not unless you turn off the info display. Don't know why Sony keeps being so stubborn about the hdmi output formats and allowing us to utilize the full aspect ratio.

With zebras on, there’s a black to white gradient bar that pops up at the bottom middle of the screen. Do you know if that can be removed? It’s the one things I can’t sort out and it blocks the camera info for me. Thanks in advance!
@thomasfransson11 ай бұрын
Hmm, I usually just turn zebras on for a second to check exposure and then turn them off again. So I haven't noticed this myself. Sounds like some sort of indication to let you know you have zebras on like with false colors and that sort of stuff? Maybe there's something in the display/info settings that will allow you minimize it. Sorry - I'm only speculating here as I haven't looked into this myself. I bet OSEE can give you a better answer.

This vs the dc 550?
@thomasfransson11 ай бұрын
I would say it depends, the Lilmon 5 has a few more advanced features which can be great for a certain type of productions. While the manual controls and the slightly higher brightness along with the hood that also acts as a screen protector during tranaport makes the DC-550 a great choice for run and gun shooters looking for an affordable monitors for their cameras that'll get the job done.

How is it against the lut5, 6, or 7 from feel world ?
@thomasfransson6 ай бұрын
I haven't had the chance to try those so I could only compare them on paper. What I can say is that the Lilmon 5 have a more detailed/higher resolution graphics on their onscreen tools compared to other budget friendly monitors that I've tried. On some of those monitors the tools feels very pixilated in comparison. This makes the Osee more precise and easier to use. But I don't know if Feelworld have updated their interface since the Feelworld F6 Plus that I also have. I am interested in their 7" for location shoots. Sorry but that's the best info I can offer.

i bought the display and actually quite happa. except that the internal lcd display goes black at 25p 4k as soon as the external display is connected. according to the sony website, 24p playback is possible simultaneously on the display and the monitor from the a6600 with the proxy switched off. does anyone know what the situation is with the a6700 or the fx30? i think the internal lcd is important for the autofocus.
@thomasfransson2 ай бұрын
That's unfortunately a Sony limitation. If you Google "hdmi info display" or go to your camera menu External output --> HDMI info display menu number 53/54 you can at least get image on both your camera and monitor with the camera settings on your camera screen and a regular image on the monitor.
@aportmannch2 ай бұрын
@@thomasfransson thanks for your feedback. i only found the information that this works from the a6600 onwards and only for 24p. i myself only have an a6400 and would like to buy a 6700 for this very reason and am looking for confirmation of what works and what doesn't. what about the fx30? or do you also have a 6700 lying around? up to what fps can the signal be output on the internal and external monitor at the same time?
@thomasfransson2 ай бұрын
Sony cameras will give you two options, option number 1, you connect a monitor and the camera screen goes dark. Option 2, you turn off info display and get a clean hdmi signal on the monitor. Clean as in there won't be any camera info displayed on the monitor, no recording, exposure, leveling, battery status and so forth. This will be displayed on the camera screen. Also note that with info display turned on, the HDMI signal will include the black bars around the screen resulting in a smaller image not covering the entire monitor screen. This is the same on all Sony cameras FX30, A7, A1, a6700, fx3... Regarding frame rates, most monitors accepts up to 4K 30fps, but as they're all 1920x1080 even the $2500 ones. Most people just set their HDMI resolution to 1920x1080 instead of 4K as this allows you to monitor even higher than 120fps. And the resolution will obviously be the same since it's only a fhd display anyway. I hope this information is what you was looking for.

is there any lag on the monitor? got a feel world and I notice some kind of delay.. its annoying..
@thomasfransson Жыл бұрын
I haven't done any side by sides tbh. But if you're experiencing more latency than what is considered normal over HDMI (there's always some) I would test a different cable, these can have a significant effect on transmission. And maybe look over the HDMI settings on your camera. It's possible and somewhat logical that any additional processing for downscaling a 4K signal to 1080 in the monitor might add to the latency as well. Or on some cameras feeding a 4K signal might even cut down on the latency a bit. I'll see if I can compare the latency between the two tomorrow. I'm working on a comparison video right now.

I mostly shoot 4k 60fps video on my lumix g9. I film quicker action paintball. Does this monitor lag or hold well with afc or autofocus and zooming etc? Thanks. Looking at other options besides atomos shinobi
@thomasfransson Жыл бұрын
Sounds like some cool and fast paced stuff! I did a lag test in the follow up video comparing it to the Feelworld F6 Plus. The Lilmon 5 out performed the Feelworld in that test. But I would suggest you look at it yourself in order to get a better feel for the amount of lag. - I'll like the video with test below. As a side note, all monitors will have some lag due to the latency over the HDMI (even up to 15ms is considered acceptable) On top of that the cable being used along with any additional processing done by the monitor can add to hdmi latency. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ3VpIRmjtaDsKc I found the Lilmon 5 to be snappy in general. It's a newer monitor and it shows when comparing it to those that's been on the market for a while.
@goofybynature Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the response. I assume all monitors will have some sort of small response delay. I order the lilmon 5 to test today. And hopefully get to test on some action this weekend. Seems to be a solid monitor for the price. Randomly stumbled on it, then see all the pretty solid videos and reviews. Mostly want the monitor to just see my shots bigger etc ad colors seem solid but do all my color grading in post so should work well I hope. @@thomasfransson

@thomasfransson Жыл бұрын
I believe that's still something that has to be licensed. I know Ed worked hard to get smallhd to adopt it and I think they're still the only company to offer this natively atm.

@@thomasfransson i believe it does need a license but it would be worth it. It’s. Far better way to monitor exposure. Atomos have just announced their new range of 5” monitors and they will now offer EL zone & Arri false colour. Looks like they are trying to catch up with Smallhd.

Hello, I am running this monitor with a Lumix S5ii and from camera to monitor there appears to be latency / lag. It throws me off when following an object. Have you run into this issue?
@thomasfransson9 ай бұрын
There's always a degree of latency in the monitor and the hdmi protocol itself. If you are sending a 4K signal to the monitor try setting it to 1080 instead. I've not been able to do any controlled tests on this theory. But maybe less processing on the monitor side can reduce the monitor latency. No guarantees, just an idea i got a while ago
