Great video. I've been shooting in 1080p at 60fps. Manual mode. 1/120th shutter speed. D-Cinelike style. Any suggestions for changing that around? Should I go with 30fps and 1/60th shutter speed? If so, what advantage would that give me? Thanks! I have the P4, not the Pro.

Magnum The main reason that I shot in 30fps on the Phantom 4 was to record in 4K. 1080P at 60fps yields some buttery smooth footage though (and you can also slow it down to 30fps in post for slow motion purposes). Sounds like your shutter speed settings are spot on!

+Dee Trott 4K60 is recorded in h.264 only, which has a lower bitrate (60Mbps) than the h.265 codec (100Mbps). So there is a little more detail in the video when shooting in h.265. That being said, 4K60 brings with it some great flexibility, such as slowing the footage down 50% to achieve slow motion 4K footage. My frame rate does vary depending on what I'm shooting. My newest videos including the latest VLOGs were shot in 4K60 on my P4Pro. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! John

Hi thanks for useful video I'm shuffling through the camera setting on my phantom 4 pro ...Can U point me in right direction please ...got a problem with my p4p I'm in UK and just bought p4p in camera settings in trying to set up 4k. In UK we use pal . But when i switch to this setting i loose the 60 frames per second it drops to 50fps .No idea why and i don't think this is right any ideas? Colin uk

Hey John, Thank you for this tutorial. Ive started to follow you, and really like what you are teaching about he P4P. I am shooting real estate. Photo's and Video. I really don't have the knowledge or the time for the editing, so we are having a 3rd party to edit for us. When giving them direction to make the videos look alive, and have color to it how do I direct them, in the editing process for the outcome that you are producing? I do appreciate your advice. +Jon Peters Drone Media They are focus peaking lines, they let you know what areas in the image are in focus. You can turn them off in the camera settings menu if you like.

Great clip but why can you only choose 4K with 24fps or 30fps on the P4P? Shouldn't there be 48fps and 60fps (in NTSC settings)?

+Daniel Saredi Its because I shoot in the h.265 codec. For 4K 60fps, you must select the h.264 codec.

One of the best videos out there for video settings on the drone. However people should be shooting in 4K 60FPS much smoother for pans and other shots. I have been a stickler about this for years and have held on shooting the 4K because it was only offered at 30fps but now the Pro lets you do 60. If your computer can't handle the job its time to upgrade that also. Me I use Xeon processors and highly recommend them for video editing. I find myself doing less work in the high end video stuff these days and more commercial photo using this drone. But its camera is a game changer with the mech shutter.

Having the ability to shoot 4K60 in a drone of this size & price range is amazing. Sometimes I prefer 24/30FPS and other times I use the 48/60FPS, just depends on the shoot. Jealous of your XEON processors! 🙌

ISO isn’t how much light enters the sensors, it’s the sensors sensitivity. The aperture controls how much light is let in.. I’m sure you knew this already
