hi, question.. If you're in Europe.. if you're in the USA > PAL/NTSC.. why would that make any difference? what does it mean "if you're in.." why would the place where you are be of any importance? what if you travel? i don't get it. For me, the choice between PAL/NTSC is a choice of FPS, not of the place where i'm in.

I’d consider auto settings for actual vlogging where you’re changing scenes. Manual exposure is great for scenes staying static but can get dicey elsewhere. Also cameras typically have a native ISO a few stops up from the lowest, so yes lower is better but lowEST is not always optimal. Thanks!

Great informative video. Question. I bought the Canon M50 accessory kit for my new M50, which has the AC power adapter from Canon. But when I use the AC adapter I get a buzzing humm sound on my videos audio. I use a wired lapel mic. Any suggestions? Would a shotgun mic do away with the noise? Thanks

I customize the delete button to turn off the screen and of course stop the blocked viewfinder from turning it off. I don't forget to turn off the screen when using the viewfinder. I am used to it. About 1080p. It's more than enough. 4K is too sharp anyway for vlogging or talking head. My fave lens is the canon 22 ef-m f/2 stm. Practice practice practice. Great video.

Hmmm. Have you made sure that top dial on the camera is set to movie mode? This will make a difference in all of the menus and display screens. Otherwise, I think you may have skipped the step where you tap the upper left icon and set it to Manual Movie exposure.. not auto. Let me know if that helps!

Photo settings are generally the same- except you want to speed up the shutter for less motion blur.

Careful because when it’s in 4K there is a crop factor, and also you’ll lose the Dual Pixel Autofocus, which is a must for vloggers. I don’t use the 4K at all.. it’s unfortunate! The Sony A6400 might be comparable because it has the flip up screen.. tough decision though!

@@BlakeSandenMedia Well I love the look of Canon cameras and honestly I have never touched a Sony... so the M50 is my favorite! But I do wish they would step it up a notch.. I think the EOS R might be my next option to explore. I'm not worried about 4k because it would be too hard to work with editing regularly... I will say I was on the fence and waiting for the perfect camera for the longest time and I finally decided to give the M50 a try and I'm very happy with it. I'd go for it if I were you :)

What is the specific reason behind PAL for use in Europe? I find if I switch to that I get fewer FPS choices in the movie modes and also weird ones like 50fps

It's something to do with the built in light sources and the rate at which they flicker- syncing up with our frame rates. So if you had the wrong settings then your camera would pick up flickering lights..so annoying. I wish we could all just get on the same system 😄

Also, I am a beauty products reviewer and I will have to show products while filming and the autofocus is not doing a good job at it. Do you think I got a faulty lens?? I don’t think you got a faulty lens. I think you have the camera set to face tracking which will always try to focus on your face first. Even if you hold a product up to it. I have the same prob sometimes. Just hide your face behind the product or take it off of face tracking. For the color you should check out my LUTS! They are like instant color grades. It's pretty good, but it's going to sound like in-camera audio if you're more than a foot away from it. So I definitely wouldn't use it for a studio style shot, but it's ok for vlogging.
