I really liked this video for showing you don't need the latest and greatest to have fun and take good photos.For young people starting in photography or anyone on a lower budget this is great advice. I am fully in the Olympus /OM System MFT system so, for me it definitely would be the E-M1 (But I very much like the other cameras too).

I've owned both the Sony A7 and the EM1 and I currently use the EM1ii but, of the 4 on the film, I'd opt for the A7 and a few primes. The Samyang AF lenses for Sony are cheap, small and good quality They'd make a great value kit. Add an adapter and you can use a world of vintage manual lenses too (also possible with the EM1 but they don't balance so well on MFT). The only snags with the A7 are that it is loud and has limited stabilisation.

Thanks for the video. I was tempted to get th α7 to adapt all sorts of lenses from the film era that I have in drawers and cabinets. It just then became a bit more expensive and I switched to the α7RII as the higher resolution and image stabilisation draw me into a higher pricerange as I paid 630€. All four of the cameras you just featured are such beautiful and well designed machines that for a well kept example which didn't fire to many shots, as the mechanical shutters only have a restricted lifeexpectance, 300 is a fine pricetag and if someone already owns lenses or decided on a lensrange all of these are great. On the shutter expectance: the pro models have a mire sturdy design at outlast pure amateur cameras sometimes by ten times. With the full frame slrs: you can always adapt lenses to mirrorless or 4/3rds cameras if you later decide to change the system or tryout a different system. And appart of all this the olympus instantly strikes me. their layout is so technical, the formfactor so compact and I think olympus (even though I don't really shoot one) is completely underrated. Best Albrecht

Thanks for your contribution. The point about shutter lifespans is a good one.

I tell you what full weather protection means, for example, for loud nikon d3 and d3s - any quite heavy rain kills your camera, after that you complain to the manufacturer and nikon answers you that you did not declare anything like this, you drowned the camera yourself, they literally could not believe themselves that they made a product of such the highest quality. PS I wouldn't be too surprised if I found out that without mirrors, Sony suffered from rains just as often

you can get a camera for 4 bucks to take a great photo. however you need a 1K+ lens for it to happen...
@AmateurPhotographerTVАй бұрын
So you can't take a good photo unless you spend at least 1k on the lens? Er... okay, lol
@backstab86Ай бұрын
@AmateurPhotographerTV yeah, according to most people, you need that.

@@backstab86 Do yourself a favour and google some 'greatest photos of all time' articles. See if you can guess how many of the images were shot on £1k lenses. A great photo is created by a combination of skill and timing. In most cases the kit is immaterial (with the exceptions of specialist subjects like sports and wildlife).

Poorly edited (several repeated parts of e-m1 segment should be cut, doesn’t say anything about the image quality), too many errors (holding mkii, saying 5D and first states that it’s from 2013, hashtagging D7000 and 5dmkiii), and also just boring/bad photos. These cameras deserve better. But thanks for staying retro👍

Dear Sir, when you offer feedback it is a good idea to mention the good points of the video as well. For 99.99 % of non Peter McKinnon viewers I'm sure it's just fine.

Like I said: thanks for staying retro. That's a good point, isn't it?
