Funny, I still have and use the old synthetic MEC bootie! I used them before I got into winter camping as I frequently did late season canoe trips. But I now have the down ones with the extra fabric that pulls up and ties at the knees. Especially great for the Dacks when the snow is deep!

yeah the old ones are fantastic!!!!! and you could by covers for them back then that would also act as a gator! I kind a wish they would bring the covers back!

I just got got from an overnight hike and took my synthetic mec booties and i could not agree more with them being essential in the shoulder seasons. One not the site had a really heavy layer of pine needles and i did slip a few times on the hillier sections of the camp.

Do you know how the down pair in this video compares to the MEC 'hut' version on their website? I think it's 100% synthetic instead of down. Thx.

Do you know what twmp these are rated for? I'm going to Alaska and need some very warm booties. Thank you New Sub here
@martymorissette11 күн бұрын
Get the expedition booties from mec in this case. I had them down at -37c. You still need a little close cell foam under them when you are sitting around though it helps quite a bit.
@PatriotRebel177611 күн бұрын
@martymorissette thank you im going to go look now. What do you mean close cell foam?
@PatriotRebel177611 күн бұрын
They dont have my size unfortunately in the expedition booties. do you know much about the get down booties? Or the other ones they have? I would have to go to always and the booties not be worn enough. Wish the company would list the temperature rating @martymorissette

I’ve actually never heard of them! Would love to see them

Theyre fluffy warm and comfy. 170g or sth like that. good budget option imho. but they're low cut slippers. @@martymorissette If you want something much more similar to the ones you showed, look at the "Naturehike 750Fp Goose Down Foot Cover". They're Anklet high as well. (I dont have them so cant testify for quality). Though personally I prefer using the down socks people usually just use to sleep in, and put those silicone waterproofing shoe covers over them when I get out of my hammock. Though they're not very durable, they work fine till I get a puncture.

I’ll have to look at it! For me durability and being able to walk around camp is key though. I don’t sleep with them on
